Canada leading the Czech Republic 4-1 late in period 2. Maybe France was a necessary wake-up call?

Textbook hip check - I love it when a player goes ass over tea kettle.

I think the youth of team USA is being served up by Russia today - 6-1 Russkies after two periods.

Bieksa calls out refs for missed major high-sticking call on him, refs reverse decision, call 5 min major.

...
If they keep showing pics of Bieksa spitting blood I’m going to lose my lunch.

...
The Bieksa high stick literally made me want to throw up at my desk.

anyone watching? ... i just heard tsn had a super slow mo of him arguing with the ref and you could count the droplets of blood in the air lol

Czechs make it interesting in the 3rd, but Canada holds on for a 4-3 win.

Break up the French (they just beat Slovakia 5-3)

I know it's not best on best and Slovakia isn't quite a power house but I love seeing lower tier countries like France score these types of upsets. The more countries that can be competitive, the better it is for hockey and the NHL. It's not going to make them competitive overnight but 2 big upsets (and counting?) is certainly a step in the right direction.
