Just Woods left in the top 10. News has been hard to come by this year. I wonder what's going on with that.

I am surprised but glad to see Logan Webb sign. He would have been a first round pick next year if he went to college.

Webb committed to Cal Poly, a 4-yr college, so he wouldn't have been eligible for the draft next year (if he went to Cal Poly).

I have seen reports that Woods signed as well, but I have not seen it confirmed anywhere as of yet.

I trust there will be a few signings that will come out in the next day or so (there are always some stragglers), but signing the top 14, and 19 of the top 25 is pretty good. Missing out on a 15th rounder is likely not that huge of a deal.

Of the 23 signed...

5 HS
1 JC
17 college

11 pitchers (8 RHP, 3 LHP)
2 catchers, 4 INF, 6 OF

We all know about Beede. He is, essentially, the draft. However, Garcia has been comped to Susac, and Webb has a high ceiling as well. Slater is supposedly going to be moved to the infield by the org (I think he is the one). While nobody yet has grabbed my imagination out of this class (I latched onto ToJo immediately when he was drafted, for example), I have heard enough good things about them that I am mildly excited.

The guy who excites me (besides Young Beeduh) in this class is Davis. Another OSU guy with power (Hello, Susser!), he's got good plate coverage and an ability to track pitches well. He's got an absolute CANNON for an arm (also pitched with a FB reaching 97), and while not fast -- won't clog the bases. He's a plus defender and covers ground well. One of the few true power hitters in the draft, and with his developing plate discipline he projects as a Michael Cuddyer type. I think he'll be up in 2016 and he'll transition to RF as Pence moves to LF. I saw him play vs. Stanford and vs. Cal and he's legit.
