Not draft signees, but...

Giants sign two outfielders to six-figure deals | CSN Bay Area

Giants sign 3 Latin Americans to 6-figure deals...

Outfielders Sandro Fabian and Bryan Pena and SS Francisco Medina. The Giants got all 3 for approx 1M. They started with a total pool of about 2.4M.

Carbonell does not count towards this pool since he was old enough to be grand-fathered in pre-pool rules.

None of the three prospects were rated in the top 30 Latin prospects this year, so I am not sure how excited to be about any of these kids.

Just a couple days left, and the Giants haul is not looking good. I expect a slew of announcements in the coming days, but this is cutting it close.

It seem that they often cut it close. At least if they don't sign their 2nd or 3rd draft pick, they'll get compensation picks in the 2015 draft.

Are you sure about that? I thought comp only went towards 1st rounders.

Unsigned 1st & 2nd rounders get you pick N+1 in the next draft (you have pick 10 who doesn't sign, you get pick 11 next year). Unsigned 3rd rounders get you a pick in the supplemental round between rounds 3 & 4.

Gotcha. Thanks.

Don't want to go that route, though. Garcia is supposed to be Susac-like. I expect them to sign most of their top-20 guys. I just don't like them going to the wire like this.

The Giants are still without agreements for five of their top 10 draft picks, a situation Cotillo believes could be due to the club devoting their time and draft pool resources to signing first-rounder Tyler Beede, who couldn’t negotiate until after the College World Series.

They actually got Beede at slot, so I am not sure he was a difficult sign. I gotta think they had an idea what he would sogn for before taking him, unless his availability was a complete shock to them. It is also possible that his complete bed-shitting in the CWS mad him more open to getting a deal done.

And if a team doesn't sign a (or several) draft pick(s) from the first 10 rounds, the "slot" money for that pick is removed from "the pool", so there is no benefit to not sign people. In fact, it can be a detriment.
