You have to wonder about waiting around too long though. There are some big name schools looking for coaches and if you ponder for too long, you miss out. I thought Neb and Mich would have already had their coached picked before firing the current coach.

Recruiting season is well underway and there will need to be some damage control for commits by the new coach. Fla at least had the luxury of having an extra week to find their guy.

I completely understand that there is a time factor, but you cant let that control a 5 year decision. I jsut find it amazing that if this is true, Florida will have done 1 interview and hired a coach from a mid-major

Lance Leipold of Whitewater is going to Buffalo, supposedly. It's tough to argue with that 107-6 record.

Amazing hire for Buffalo, hopefully they get some good years from him.

Things are breaking down in the McElwain Florida talks because of Colorado States buyout.

That sure wouldn't be a good look for them.

There were rumors of Nebraska targeting Bielema, could you imagine if that happened?

I don't think it would.

Unlv might be targeting Houston Nutt and Ed Orgeron

They got a good fcs coach last time so trying a coach with name recognition might be better this time around

I find this time of year amusing, but as a BSU fan, frustrating. My school always wins, so desperate schools come poking around, waving suitcases full of cash, hoping that they will find the next Messiah. My school sighs, then we laugh at the morons who hire that successful small program coach but won't change the climate, recruiting, and attitude of their school.

Two or five years later they will have fired this coach, lost another twenty million, and go out looking for the Savior, yet again.

You'd think that maybe someone would use enough intelligence to figure out WHY schools that always win do so? They don't win because they join some coaching personality cult. A true winning program doesn't start with the coach, the coaching hire is the LAST thing they do.

Nope in Boise, winning is what we do, no matter who the coach is, well, because that's our program.

Maybe you big school fools could sit down a learn from someone who does it right.

Naah, not going to happen.

A lot sure happened since I was last here LOL

UNLV probably made the worst hire so far, high school coaches never successfully make the jump.

Pat Narduzzi to Pittsburgh, a good hire by them

they had a pretty young team last year so he isn't taking over an empty slate there by any means.

I saw something the other day that there's a rift between Kyle Whittingham and Utah's AD

he just lost his offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator in the last few days

wonder if he could be an option for Michigan if they can't land Harbaugh.

Jim Mora's name is popping up as a serious candidate for the 49ers job, Raiders job, and Jets job. I think he's unlikely to pursue them after turning down Washington last year, but we will find out. If he turns down the Niners, I think that job will be stable for a long time.

Also, Harbaugh to Michigan is apparently done.
