I just thought it was a bad choice when Cishek had nearly thrown him out a couple times already.

Was a great throw though.

5.32 ERA...they need to assign him to Gwinnet; that is, if we have anyone to replace him with. Do we?

David Hale was pretty effective as a starter earlier this season. Hell, his last start before he was sent to the BP to make room for Gavin Floyd he went 8 strong innings.

And I thought Gus Schlosser did a decent job in the long relief role and he's in AAA right now.

Designate Minor for assignment, move Hale back to the rotation and call up Schlosser.

It is a shame. Minor has been our most consistent pitcher the previous 2.5 years prior to this one. I have to think his shoulder is still giving him problems.

Before the season started and the rotation that was set, Minor was the last one of the pitchers I would have expected to be calling to be designated for assignment.

Most definitely. But I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that he has an injury that he's not talking about.

Either case, he has no business on the 25 man roster right now pitching the way he is.

I really hope he gets assigned to Gwinnett before his next scheduled game. With the way he's pitching now, you can almost say that any game he's pitching is an automatic loss.

Over his last 8 starts his only win was against the Phillies. He gave up 6 runs, but it was one of those games the Braves put up double digit run totals.

But what a job Santana did last night. A long game for the bull pen the night before, and a big game since the Nats had already lost and he goes 7.1 strong innings.
