Orioles beat the Sinstripes 4-2 in a game that just finished.

So we are now 1 game closer to a New-York-Free postseason.

Isn't it sweet knowing the Sinstripes need the upcoming series more than we do?

We lost last night, but moved the Sinstripes that much closer to elimination from the Wild Card. That's a trade-off I can live with.

FYI, there's a thread on the Yankee forum titled "Fire Girardi Tomorrow." I'm thinking that one willget some posts today. Not from me, however. I'll check it when the mood hits, but no more than that.

I just heard they are thinking about ditching that putrific tradition.... I'll vote for a Mighty Mighty Bosstones or Dropkick Murphy's song....

Looking forward to the series. You guys are fucking stacked, unreal lineup and a solid enough rotation, a better bullpen, better defense and much more speed than the tigers. The tigers have a better starting rotation and the best hitter on the planet but the only way the tigers win this series is if their sleeping offense wakes up, otherwise this could get ugly. Good luck.

You lucked out big time last night. Congratulations for that, but don't count on any repeats.

Red Sox in 5 or 6 is still more likely than Tigers in any number.

There was no luck involved, sanchez dominated the sox just like JV and scherzer. Did you guys luck out when ortiz hit the grand slam then?

FYI I'm posting my game thread for tonight on the Baseball General Discussion forum, not this one.

An experiment to see if I get more responses that way.

ELIMINATE DETROIT TONIGHT, RED SOX!

Once again I get mixed up on the scheduling! :gaah:

The Bruins play tonight, the Red Sox in the afternoon.

So the Sox could have a WS spot clinched before the Bruins game even starts!

I'm not alone in loving that idea, am I?

GO BOSTON! :yahoo::clap::yahoo:

Maybe you don't like the tradition, but I have no problem with it.

Why isn't the game on either Fox or NESN?

It can't be a rain-out, because there's no rain at all falling here about a mile and a half from Fenway.

What gives?

Good Game One, but let's not have any sweep talk!

We won't be able to start Lester every game, after all.

We should win the Series, but it won't be easy.

Where are Farrell's critics hiding now that we only need to win ONE GAME IN FENWAY to wrap up a World Series championship?

Some good news for Red Sox fans.

Robinson Cano has left the Sinstripes!

He signed with Seattle, 10 years and $240 million.

It's still going to bother me seeing The Navajo in sinstripes, but this makes it easier to live with.

I hate to see Ellsbury go but he wanted way too much, they can't go into next year with Victorino, Bradley, Nava, Gomes and Carp for outfielders, that just won't be good enough because I don't think Bradley will be ready.
