We are still about 7 weeks out, so it is early, but who do the Giants send this year? I think, with Boch managing the team, I think the pitching staff this year will be mainly left off the roster (save for, maybe, Romo).

For position players, obviously it depends on if Silicon Valley decides to stuff the box again this year. If they do, I think we get Panda, Craw, Scutaro, Pence, Posey and Pagan. If there is little/no stuffing, then I think Posey is a lock and Panda and Craw are serious possibilities. Scoots and Pence will get consideration, depending on what happens over the next few weeks.

My guess?

Romo
Posey
Crawford (reserve)

That's it.

Boch will try to keep the entire staff off the roster and Panda will fall just short.

I think Pablo is a lock. It'll be down to him vs. Zimmerman vs. Wright vs. Freese, but I think he gets it.

Pence will get in there too. Bumgarner gets in there as a first timer. We all know Boch likes those feel-good stories so if Zeets keeps it up, he might too (but I put his chances EXTREMELY slim at this point).

I got Posey, Pablo, Pence, Romo, Bumgarner at locks/near locks. But as we know, the Silicon Valley is it's own monster. We could frankly see a starting 8 Giants, I think people want to see if they can do it.

I just submitted my first ballot...

Posey
Goldschmidt
Phillips (Scutaro is DAMN close, though)
Crawford (Homer pick. In reality, he is probably my #2 or #3 -- Tulo and Segura are having DAMN fine seasons)
Panda (Wright is having a good year, but I think Panda takes it legit)
Upton, Braun, CarGo (CarGo was a pick 'em between about 6 guys, but Braun and Upton were pretty clear)

I voted the same, except I went with the kid Segura at SS. I also went with Carlos Quentin over Braun for obvious reasons. ;)

I think Bum pitches well between now and the break and gets selected.

my ballot i did for NL was posey, goldshcimdt, phillips, segura, wright, braun,
upton,choo

Very defensible ballot.

Choo was on my short list for the 3rd OF spot.

I went with Craw over Segura and Tulo mainly due to homerism, but there is a legit argument for him. His D is SO superior and his numbers are very solid. I am not familiar with Segura's D, though.

Wright and Panda are very close, so it is hard to complain either way you go. However, Pandas numbers are slightly better everywhere except SBs. What was the final straw that convinced you to go Wright instead of Panda?

Because you're anti-semitic? I know you aren't anti-beer. ;)

EDIT: Never mind. I get it. Just pro-guys-who-break-Greinke's-collarbone.

No clear cut starters from the Giants. No pitchers right now.

If not voted in, Bochy could take Posey, Scutaro, Panda, and Pence. And if Panda and Pence make it, it's only because the NL has scarce quality at 3B and RF.

Side note: Braves RF Parra has 4 SB in 11 attempts. Yikes.

Right now, my starters would be:

C Molina (tossup w/Buster)
1B Votto nudges Goldschmidt (although rumors of A-Gon's demise were greatly exaggerated)
2B Phillips close over Carpenter and Scutaro
3B Wright. Quality here drops off fast.
SS Segura nudging Tulo
LF Cargo. Hey, why are Braun's power numbers down?
CF Cargo. No, the other one.
RF Eesh. Beltran? The top eight RF's in the NL would make for a pretty mediocre batting lineup on a regular team.

Because he left his bat in a fridge over the weekend, and you just can't get dependable results from it anymore ...
