I was referring to Stockton versus Williams. Stockton would win that. But nowadays, points are so valued, over assists and steals, despite that point advantage being less then the impact of the assist difference. Then, add in the steels and it should be no contest. Neither Stockton nor Williams won a championship and Williams never got to the Finals. Boozer is not Malone, but that doesn't excuse Williams if comparing him to Stockton. Even though Stocton not winning with Malone as help is negative, Stockton is still better.

Minus the defense and better post game, Boozer is close to Malone.

Boozer is one of the few players good at the pick and roll. Marcin Gortat, Tyson Chandler, Carlos Boozer, Omer Asik, Anthony Davis, Amare Stoudemire, Tim Duncan. These are probably the only bigs good at pick and rolls.

The rest of the players good at rolls, play other positions.

Boozer was also a good passer, like Malone.

Van Gundy just said that James has been used more as the screener and roller this year, than the ball handler.

Jefferson and Burks can probably do well in this roll, as sceeners and rollers. Maybe Marvin too. I already noted in an earlier thread, the nice Hayward-Jefferson pick and roll, from a recent game. Hayward should be the ball handler, not as the roller, since he's not a good driver. Less shooting from Hayward is good, since shooting is one of the things he's worst at. Point Guard is his best skill.

Forget the one off of 50%.

A team has to have everyone 50% or better. Or a team has to have everyone less than 50%.

Yeah, I know. I only mentioned it because I had coincidently looked at the box score. Also, the fact that it was both teams is why I brought it here. So one team qualified for that loose standard and the other was close. If it was just one team, I wouldn't have.

Talking about playoffs, the Western Conference will be set and no team can complain (absent bad ref calls). The three teams battling for the last two spots all play each other. Pretty neat. How often does that happen? 1/5 of the time? (3 teams is 1/5 of the conference.)

I don't care if they do or don't. It is neat.

But if one team is good, and the other is a garbage team, then it's less exciting.

Doug Collins called it a "3 team round robin".

I said earlier that arguably the best game in history could be a 10+ steal, 10+ rebound, and 10+ assist game.

That's a lot of aggression at both ends.
