So we saw it a little the last two years, and now even Yu has fallen victim to it so I'm thinking it might be a clubhouse issue...why can't our pitchers start a game? Seems like we go through stretches where the starters do well as soon as they are out of the first inning. I know I said it last year about CJ, go throw a simulated first inning before the game. May take an inning of game away from him, but would be better than spotting the other team some confidence let alone early runs.

eh, he only gave up 1 run nothing wrong with that......and its a hell of a lot better than his very 1st inning :)

I think this could be a pick you poison kind of thing. Our pitchers do seem to take an inning to get settled in, but on the other hand, I think we would all agree that Wash has a tendency to leave pitchers in too long. Given the heat we have hear, and the impact that it can have on a pitcher in the latter part of a game, I think I would rather take my chances on our guys not being settled in when they are fresh rather than take a chance on them later in the game when they are tired but Wash leaves them in too long.

Wash had cost this team at least two games this year leaving pitchers in too long.

ITA .It frustrates me to know end when I see Holland,or some other pitcher give up 5 or 6 runs in an inning and Wash hasn't pulled them. One game he left Holland in untill it was way too late to stop the bleeding. He allowed 8 runs. What ever happened to trying to salvage a game?

Our bullpen has been really overworked and with the way our offense has been struggling it seems more important to get as many innings from your starters as possible in these situations do we actually have a bullpen down the stretch. Just as Atlanta.

Is Darvish warring down? His entire career in Japan he pitched on a 5 day rotation, now that's been decreased to 4 days. I think he's just worn out. His fastball used to consistently hit 94. It's now hitting 91 - 92 regularly, and hitting the 94 mark every now and then. He used to keep almost all of his pitches low in the zone, now they seem to always be belt high. His fastball used to have a ton of movement, now it seems to have none.

I think they should put him on the 15 day DL to give him time to rest. He has given up, I believe 18 runs in his last 3 starts. He's not giving us anything anyway, anyone on our roster should be able to hold a team to 6 runs over 6 innings. I think Darvish could be great again if he were given time to rest. We are going to need him to be the Darvish that started the year come September and October.

Thoughts?

Not a bad idea. Put him on the 15 day DL and give Perez three starts or so. Perez should give us just as much of an opportunity to win as has Darvish has been, and I agree that two weeks of rest could really do him some good.

If Yu has another bad start its time to put him in the bullpen.Whatever is wrong with him,we can't allow it to cost the Rangers anymore games.I'm so disgusted with Yu's wildness ,I want Ogando to take his spot in the rotation.Ogando has proven lately he deserves it.
Getting a feeling that Darvish has become Nolan and JD's $150 mil mistake

I don't think that at all, most reasonable people knew he would struggle, it was just a matter of when and for what reason

You don't put Darvish in the bullpen, go to a 6 man if you have to, skip him on occasion if you have, but he needs to be in the rotation

I think his recent issues stem from of all his problems so far this season compounded by fatigue

He's still fooling people and striking people out at a good rate even if he's giving up more runs and hits now. The biggest adjustment he needs to make is that the Japanes players would swing at pitches just off the plate and MLB players don't. That's leading to more walks and him getting too much of the plate at times to compensate.
