It sounds pretty certain we'll be playing the Packers but not sure when.

I've heard Sunday afternoon on Fox and I've heard Sunday night.

If its Chris Meyers that's privy to the information wouldn't that indicate its a Fox game morning or afternoon game or does he work for the fancy pants NBC Sunday night production too?

Thanks for correcting the thread head btw.

The following is the conference/division schedule model used by the NFL since the league reorganized in 2002. The model repeats itself every 12 seasons.

Year-----Div(6)------Div(4)-------Div(4)--- +2 NFC W/same finish.
2002---NFC West---NFC East----AFC West
2003---NFC West---NFC North---AFC North
2004---NFC West---NFC South---AFC East
2005---NFC West---NFC East----AFC South
2006---NFC West---NFC North---AFC West
2007---NFC West---NFC South---AFC North
2008---NFC West---NFC East----AFC East
2009---NFC West---NFC North---AFC South
2010---NFC West---NFC South---AFC West
2011---NFC West---NFC East----AFC North
2012---NFC West---NFC North---AFC East
2013---NFC West---NFC South---AFC South

Repeat 12 season cycle

2014---NFC West---NFC East----AFC West
2015---NFC West---NFC North---AFC North
2016---NFC West---NFC South---AFC East
2017---NFC West---NFC East----AFC South
2018---NFC West---NFC North---AFC West
2019---NFC West---NFC South---AFC North
2020---NFC West---NFC East----AFC East
2021---NFC West---NFC North---AFC South
2022---NFC West---NFC South---AFC West
2023---NFC West---NFC East----AFC North
2025---NFC West---NFC North---AFC East
2026---NFC West---NFC South---AFC South

What effect increasing the season to 18 games will have on the schedule is unknown but I see no reason for it to affect the schedule model as the two additional games are not enough to add another full division.

Jed York:

Sounds like the #49ers will have a few primetime games. Any guesses on who we play in those games? Field pass for #MNF up for grabs!

--------

Maiocco:

Expecting 49ers to get max of 5 prime-time games. If game vs. NYG is at night, Candlestick power will be tested. Sked released at 4 pm, PT

Eric Branch:

Fun fact found while prepping for release of NFL schedule: The Lions have lost 11 straight at Candlestick Park dating back to 1975.

Larry Holder:

Here are #Saints home dates: Sept 9, Sept 16, Oct 7, Nov 5, Nov 11, Nov 25, Dec 16, Dec 30. All of this via source familiar w: schedule.

We already know the 49ers play the Saints on the road. So if this source is correct, the 49ers will play the Saints on one of those dates.

I can see the NFL going one of two ways with the Saints game.

Either they are going to bury as a day Sunday game because of the bountygate scandal or they are going to prime time it as a revenge game.

My guess is they bury it and minimize the exposure as much as possible.

I hope the schedule makers give the 49ers the Patriots and Jets back-to-back. It'd be nice to be able to turn two trips to the East coast into one extended stay at Youngstown, OH.
