It's nearing the time for the 3rd Annual Hookie Awards - the SportsHoopla Hockey Board Awards that recognize great contributions and moments of brilliance. Before I can post the ballot for all posters to vote on, we need some nominations. While most categories ask you to simply vote for the poster of your choice, a few need nominees. So, a couple things...
(1) Nominating Committee
I need a handful of individuals to help out with whittling down all the suggestions to a final nominee list. Any of the posters who helped last year are welcome back, you did a great job. So if you are interested, just say so in this thread and when we have enough people - that will be our nominating committee. You'll need a little time to read through some posts/threads, and then vote on them. That's it.
(2) Nominee Suggestions
There are three categories where we need nominees:
-Post of the Year (POTY) - best individual post
-Hockey Thread of the Year (HTOTY) - best hockey discussion
-Funny Thread of the Year (FTOTY) - most hilarious thread
All you have to do is indicate the category, the poster, and post a link to the thread or post you are suggesting for nomination consideration. For example, I'd post the following...
POTY - Comeds - Wilder in the Park
That's it. Make nomination suggestions as often as you want in this thread. Suggestions are open until June 30th.
Can I nominate myself? Yes, absolutely. Nobody will remember your best posts as well as you.
What posts can I nominate? The Hookies are just for posts from the NHL General Board.
What posts are eligible? Only posts from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012 are eligible.
How can I find posts? If you want to find a particular thread or post you remember, you can use Google and start your search with "site:sportshoopla.com" and then any keywords, poster names, or phrases you remember. This will allow you to Google search only SportsHoopla, not the entire Web.
