2011 Interesting Stat

Being bored this morning I decided to look through some of the 2011 season stats ....... thought this was very interesting and also very telling ...

In 2011 the team lost 76 games. In 25 of those games the opposition only scored 1-3 runs. Amazing! In a 1/3 of our losses we only gave up 3 or less runs. Looked at the DBacks. Of their 68 losses on 9 fell into that catagory.

Also looked at the wins. We had 86. Of those 86 we only scored 1-3 runs in 31 of them.

So, in a total of 56 games (about 35% of the schedule) we only allowed the opposition to score 1-3 runs and we won only 55% of those.

If our offense is just adequate this year ...... watch out!

Good stat...and barring injuries this year I think the Giants will be fine. The big question is what Arizona does. Was last year one of those years everything fell into place? Or, have they moved past the Giants?
