They said an MCL sprain like Curry- which was a minimum 2 weeks, remember?

There are different degrees of spains. Without seeing MRIs and being able to prove the Heat are blowing smoke on this, I will take their word for it. The logic you are using here that all MCL sprains recover at the same rate is medically ignorant. I could fracture my leg and miss two months. I could also fracture my leg with bone sticking out of it like Paul George and miss a year. Why does one break take longer than the other? Paul George is intentionally sitting 10 more months because he is scared.

Well I said MINIMUM- which means at the very least- for those that are challenged when it comes to using common sense.

And since Curry suffered a grade 1- which was considered the most mildest condition- it would make sense to use that as the threshold when using the word MINIMUM. Not sure how you can ask a question on a sports forum board and then use the argument that I'm medically ignorant- as if there are doctors that post on this thread.

It is medically ignorant. You are declaring 2 weeks minimum when the Heat are saying day to day. It's not like somehow the Heat are scared to announce player injuries or declare them out. Grade 1 is the most mild. But not all grade 1 sprains are the same. What makes sense to you to use as a threshold is not what the Miami Heat doctors are using as their threshold. You are here on sports SportsHoopla with no access to either players MRI saying they are the same and the same threshold should be used, while the Miami Heat who do have the MRI on Whiteside are not saying that.

To believe you, I must believe that the Miami Heat are intentionally down playing the seriousness of this injury. I also must believe that knowing you have not seen the MRI... you just know because Steph Curry.

Well you're free to believe what you want- but don't ask a question & then try to dispel an answer using the reason of me not being a medical doctor-. If you're on a sports forum asking then common sense would tell you you're looking for OPINIONS rather than medically correct answers. SMH

And just so you know- 2 weeks minimum is not just MY guess- that is the NORM if you ask MOST people that know anything about that injury & it's relation to sports players (other players that have suffered from the same injury- sports commentators, etc.). Obviously there are many different grades- but a grade 1 is the mildest form & 2 weeks is the MINIMUM TIME it takes to recover from that- which also means THERE ISN'T A SHORTER RECOVERY TIME from that injury.

The Heat certainly can be withholding info on his injury- they also could've misdiagnosed him. But neither of those things changes the recovery time for an MCL sprain.

"Typically, the recovery time for a mild MCL sprain can be a couple of weeks - though there are examples where players returned within a day or two."

You sure...Doctor??

If Whiteside returns soon...sounds like Steph is a pussy :pound:

Gonna be interesting to see which backup center steps it up the most.

I remember when we drafted that Lucas guy they were just showing. I was disappointed when we traded him. I was curious about his potential.
