I like what McCaffery is doing there, herky.

he's a great coach, I think he will have Iowa better very soon.

Me too. The class that he has coming in 2012 is very good. He signed Mike Gesell, a 4* PG to go along with Pat Ingranm, a 6'3" SG and Kyle Meyer, a 6'9" 225lb C. We're very close to signing Adam Woodbury, a 7'0" C. It's down to Iowa, UNC, Ohio St and Wisconsin. His family are huge Iowa fans so that should help.

After those 4 players, we still have 2 scholarships to hand out. My money is on a JUCO PG and banking the other to spread them out a bit. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us pushing 18 wins this season. Our OOC schedule is very forgiving.

Date Opponent
Nov. 6 NW Missouri State (exh.)
Nov. 11 Chicago State
Nov. 14 North Carolina AT&T
Nov. 17 Northern Illinois
Nov. 20 vs. Creighton

Nov. 29 Clemson
Dec. 3 Brown
Dec. 6 at Northern Iowa
Dec. 9 at Iowa State
Dec. 17 Drake

Forgiving as in, we don't leave the state.

St. Mary's is too high. With McConnell gone, they lose a lot as evidenced by how poorly the Gaels did last season when McConnell had stinkers. I'm surprised that Brigham Young isn't in the top 40. I know they lost Jimmer (and thank God for that so I don't have to listed to announcers talk about him all season long) but they still have some other good players who are returning, plus they get the sinner Davies back (I say sinner tongue in cheek). Gonzaga will all depend on Harris and Sacre this season. Probably the last go around for both. If they are dominant the Zags will be tough to beat.

My only request is that none of: North Carolina, Duke, Connecticut, Michigan State, Florida, Kentucky or Kansas win the title this year. Let's see some new blood.

Oh and Pitt should be barred from the top 25 until they can make it to the sweet 16. Round of 32 is not gonna cut it.

indeed, sir

I'm ready for some one new.

looks like we do battle on the 22nd, sir

too bad you will lose to the Mastodons, otherwise we could have a battle of unbeaten teams.

Vanderbilt is awful high for a team that didn't even make it out of the first round of NCAA tournament

Iowa gets a breeze of an OOC schedule. Only 5 real games they have any shot of losing ( Creighton, Iowa State, Clemson, UNI and Boise State ) and all but 1 of those is a home game. Worst case scenario for Iowa is 10-3 OOC and they only play Ohio State, Michigan, Illinois and Michigan State 1 team each in B10 play. I think 18-22 wins is pretty reasonable depending on how the young guys gel.

I find it odd that Marquise Carter isn't listed among the 15 best players in the WCC, according to Lindy's. I mean, he did win Newcomer Of The Year, and the league lost quite a few good seniors.

name doesn't ring a bell but sure sounds like he should be in the top 15.

He didn't start out too well, but had a great end to the season. Was MVP of the WCC Tournament and had a big game against St. John's in the Dance.

Yeah, Marquise was the reason that the Zags were co-WCC champs and the tournament winners last season. Without him, I don't think they would have even made it to the big dance. Top 15 in the WCC for sure.

We aren't even in the top 40 but Harvard is? Damn, hopefully TN isn't as horrible as people expect.

Harvard is really good, sir

Harvard returns almost every starter and adds a top 100 recruit.

Yeah, I don't really follow basketball as closely as some of the die hards (UK fans), so maybe that's why these college basketball rankings seem weird to me. I'm sure Harvard will have a good team.

so much for St. Johns, they just took a big hit.

they probably won't even make the tournament now.
