Sabres fan here.....


This should be a pretty good series. As IPW said the Sabres finish the second half of the season pretty strong and the Flyers had a pretty sluggish finish. This however means nothing come playoff time.

I have no problem with the Sabres goal tending and contrary to some that refer to the last couple of years the Sabres were third or Fourth in the conference in goals scored so Miller doesn't need to carry this team.

We get pretty good balanced scoring from four lines and some of the top players have really picked it up. Vanek being one and even Connolly.

The defense is my concern. They are young and most of them are offense first guy's that at times get caught "pinching" when they shouldn't. That said, they have also played some very solid games down the stretch like shutting out the Habs and Rangers on the road. I could have been in goal for those games and got the SO.
What defense will show up? I have no idea but Ruff is a good playoff coach and I'm sure he will pull them back a bit.

Overall the Flyers have the edge in talent and I would think they will win in six games but this is the playoffs so you never know.
