last night is a perfect example of why i don't want them to be buyers.
To me we need to not only not be buyers, we need to be sellers.last night is a perfect example of why i don't want them to be buyers.
After Darvish you'll get garage sale prices. To me we need to not only not be buyers, we need to be sellers.

Shouldn't trade - Profar, Gallo, Maz
I'd cut bait on Profar so fast...
Well if the point is trading for the purpose of being things back then he doesn't make sense, especially if you try and move Andrus
That's confusing, why would you say we shouldn't trade him then... obviously you think he has some value, and if he has value, he'd bring something back.
Right now, Darvish is probably the only thing worth selling that people would actually want to buy, at least in terms of what we would get back
Choo - No one is buying that contract for anything worthwhile
Andrus - Iffy, does his contract impede the return, and not make it worthwhile?
Lucroy - Tough pill to swallow after what we gave up
Beltre - would probably bring a decent return to a team that needed a 3B for the stretch run
Napoli - No one is buying
Hamels - Needs to get healthy and pitching well first
Gomez - playing well, might actually bring a decent return from someone needing a CF
Odor - Needs to start hitting
So Darvish, Beltre and Gomez, Chirinos as is, could fetch something worthwhile
Waiting to see - Lucroy, Hamels, Odor need to start playing better/get healthy, Bush maybe, but I know there are many teams that won't have anything to do with him
Contract restricted - Choo & Andrus, hard to say with those contracts
Nope - Napoli contract and play suck, Perez, Cashner
Shouldn't trade - Profar, Gallo, Maz
I'd cut bait on Profar so fast...
I disagree on Lucroy. Teams don't think he sucks now after just one bad year with the Rangers. Less than a year ago, he was regarded as one of the best catchers in the game. He was selected to catch for the WBC team. We can and should get something good for him. I think his track record trumps his performance this year.
My only problem with this is, he won't bring squat back. IMO we'd be better off keeping him at AAA and hope he shows some serious rebound and get his value up.
I guess that's my thinking... I don't have any hope he's going to rebound.
Profar doesn't bring prospects in return if we're sellers
I don't know that to be the case. JD has done more with less.

EDIT: obviously Profar won't bring multiple prospects. But I bet he could be flipped for one solid pitching prospect.
Who's going to give up good prospects for a struggling, older prospect?
Now that doesn't make sense
