They’re probably still a top group. They can survive no Williams in this matchup because the Nets don’t really have a post presence. Where Cs will miss him as being that roving rim protector. Not sure but i know they fell off a bit since the williams injury
Where Simmons could play a role is in playing 4th Q defense against Brown/Tatum. Now they have 2 elite wing defenders in KD and Simmons. The trade off is that Simmons naturally has a forced role in the half court. Gonna be even harder for him without the time to get acclimated.Tough match-up.
That said: I think the Celtics have the better overall team... and further that they match-up pretty well against the Nets.
This is no gimme, though... more like a toss-up. I personally think Kevin Durant is the best player in basketball, and that matters a lot.
Seth Curry having a gimpy ankle hurts Brooklyn a bit, and I'm not super worried about the Ben Simmons factor because dude can't shoot and is gonna be rusty as heck.
Celtics are gonna have to shoot the ball reasonably well.
Celtics in 7.

Rooting for Boston.
KD is really outstaying his welcome by claiming he "is basketball" and that all his jerseys should be retired.
Celtics the better team. Boston in six.
Yeah... but the Nets have been impacted by injuries too... arguably more...Too bad R. Williams isn't available for this series. His rim D will be missed.

... it's part of the game.
Joe Harris was a very important cog to the Nets machine... Seth Curry is also clearly being affected by a gimpy ankle.View attachment 293841
I don't count Simmons. He's yet to play a single game for them and I question his true love for the game. Right now it seems he's more interested in collecting a paycheck than playing.
Do you mean Joe Harris? Not sure of any other Nets injured at the moment. But if you only mean Harris he's not the on-court impact player Williams is.

That's two money shooters that would normally thrive playing off KD and Kyrie.

I think they can survive his loss in this matchup but if they’re fortunate enough to move on, he’s gonna loom large building the wall vs Giannis.Yeah... but the Nets have been impacted by injuries too... arguably more...
