He has always been known as one of the best defensive coaches in the league. He also has a rep for getting max effort out of his players, which is ironic considering that is literally all that you were asking for before Thibs was exactly that.

Effort, defense and fundamentals.

Yes, you fire Thibs and the defense will almost surely regress.

It might be time for a new voice leading the Knicks. But just be prepared…

Because chances are you will want him fired within a month of their first game. And it will probably be because of defense and effort. Things you have started to take for granted that Thibs brings to the table on every team he coaches.

Thibs will NEVER get his team to the big one or a real contender bc of the simple stuff. Great defensive coach and probably great in the locker room but he can’t do simple math. He wears out his starters and refuses to play his bench. It does seem like his teams don’t have greatest offenses but like I said, when it comes to the playoffs it matters little bc the team is either injured or worn down.

If Malone is on the market he is a much better coach. I am not sure who is out there now. Bud or Monty wouldn’t be an upgrade though…not close

Hahaha. Hasn’t he won a few since New York has even been close to the finals. I’d say he has at least as good a chance in Miami and he is still appreciated there.

I don’t blame you for dreaming, but it would be more productive to have a real plan. Like get Jay wright to coach his team again.

The Schroder pickup was huge

There is a reason he has played for so many teams. He is a player in demand because he plays defense and can score....and for a young team provide veteran leadership.

Didnt love the Tobi pickup at the time but hes been a perfect fit. Even Hardaway has been pretty decent. Not opposed to them packaging both for an upgrade at the 3 or 4 though.

That George deal is Deshaun Watson territory bad if he doesnt produce more than he did this year.

Still not the dumpster fire Watson is, but looking like one of the worst contracts in sports.
