Yeah, at least some of those fouls are poor defensive discipline (not closing out properly, going straight at a guy instead of to his shooting hand side). Faking a shot to get a guy to jump and then leaning forward into him to draw the foul has been around since the game was invented. The annoying part with Brunson is that he seems to do it on every freaking shot, even when it's not there, misses some shots because of it and wants to be bailed out.

While we're on the Knicks, that was one of Walt Frazier's best moves back in the day.

The Pistons locked up again down the stretch but they got away with it this time. They aren't quite ready for this, but they can still get past the Knicks.

What are you going to make the rule, if you are shooting a jump shot you can only jump vertically? Not seeing an easy rule fix.

I think the fix is pretty straight forward, but the problem is that it relies totally on judgement and can lead to a lot of gray areas.

If the offensive player jumps into the defender to make contact, it is a no call whether the defender is in legal guarding position or not.

Both players entitled to their vertical space, neither entitled to the in between. It should only be a foul on the defender he makes a move to initiate the contact.

8 days thibs will be fired

I do agree with you that Thibs will be fired if the Knicks lose to the Pistons.

I just doubt it will be much (any) better with a new coach.

We shall see I guess.

as far back as 2020 there are many videos of him foul drawin / batin on attempted 3’s
I'm not questioning that. You said the league cracked down on him specifically for it. That is what I found no evidence of. Do you have any?

Easy rule to write, and I thought it was already written that way. The difficulty come, as you stated, on enforcement.

Again, how can you be so spot on then you post crazy

ya say thibs just runs his vets into ground

Help me the F up here man!!!

Ya agreed he’s not an offensive minded strategist, so why would an offensive minded coach, say Spolstra who’s been exposed to one of the greatest minds in game not be more affective than thibs?

Also Knicks need an enforcer! Robinson is worthless

Is Spoelstra available?

Hmmm….

Get a coach who improves the offense, but the defense takes a step back and you aren’t any better off.

Thibs is a good NBA coach. His track record is proof of that.

You keep throwing Spoelstra's name out there. I hope you just mean someone Spoelstra-like, because why on earth would he leave Miami?

You have always underestimated Thibs.

He has always been known as one of the best defensive coaches in the league. He also has a rep for getting max effort out of his players, which is ironic considering that is literally all that you were asking for before Thibs was exactly that.

Effort, defense and fundamentals.

Yes, you fire Thibs and the defense will almost surely regress.

It might be time for a new voice leading the Knicks. But just be prepared…

Because chances are you will want him fired within a month of their first game. And it will probably be because of defense and effort. Things you have started to take for granted that Thibs brings to the table on every team he coaches.

Something that has a little umbrella in it right?

I'm guessing you don't know what a parasol is.
