I'm excited they named him so early, we can study film. Also he has a habit of throwing picks. He's not the worst QB but I'm not sure he'll have a motivated WR group working with him.

We definitely get to study film on him, but let's not forget what happened the last time we faced Ryan Fitzpatrick he and the Buffalo Bills picked our defense apart in Toronto..but I know the last time we saw him we didn't have RG3, Alfred Morris or Jordan Reed.

This looks like one of those games every one on the planet will simply write off as no way the Skins can lose. Which are usually the games we come out and lay a huge egg in. So as it stands now Im going to bet the under on the points total, Houston on the points spread and Houston for the win.

I hope you're wrong Shark, but you're spot on, with the way we often come up short, in games like these.:L

I hope Im wrong too Cali. But we tend to have a bad habit in games like this. And even worse, we will likely play teams like the Seahags to within an inch of their life

That was when John Beck had one of the worst QB performances ever. What a nightmare. He was sacked 10 times, but if you look at the tape you will see that Beck actually was the primary reason for many of those sacks. He constantly missed open receivers, held onto the ball way too long & had absolutely no pocket presence. I was duped like some others into believing that he was a viable NFL QB - boy were we wrong!

I am not sure how you can state that this one should be penciled in as a win for the Skins. Sure - they have made some adjustments that should make them a better team at this point. However - on the flip side - they are coming off a 3-13 season, have a new coach, question marks at various positions & playing the game in Houston & against a team that is only a year removed from the playoffs and has plenty of returning talent as well as the addition of Clowney.

Just because the Texans are coming off a poor season & have a perceived so-so QB does not mean that they will be a pushover. We are not talking about the Jags. I am also not real worried about it since even a loss will not necessarily mean that the rest of the season will be a failure.

You can pencil this one in as a win b/c its Fitz vs RG3. Enough said.

IM not saying it should be penciled as a win. But I think the prevailing mindset will be that the Texans have a new coach, new QB and new systems across the board. The Skins are returning their QB, the same running game and have improved on paper. Most of the predictors will have this down as a win for the Skins if RG3 is healthy and the offense shows any signs of life during the preseason. If we are favored at all going into this game, I wouldnt bet money on it. I feel safe in betting the under on the points total, and I feel safe in betting the cover on the Texans points unless its some outrageous number like 30 points. As far as the win, I give it to Houston currently because they are at home, and IM not sold that our passing attack will be this unstoppable monster. Combined with the fact that I think we will come out too pass heavy in week one. If we go in there and run the ball and control the clock, I think we have a fair chance of winning. BUt if we come out slinging it all over the place, I think we lose spectacularly.

This game should be a pick em. Both teams sucked last year and have new coaching staffs. No clue what to expect at this point.

Dude... we were 3-13 with a top ten Rushing attack and what turned out to be statistically a middle of the pack Defense. There isnt a game on our schedule aside from MAYBE the Jags that Im counting as a should win. There are fundamental flaws on both sides of the ball which I dont have confidence will be fixed so I see this as a 5-11 team despite the additions of Jackson, Hatcher, Roberts and the draft picks.

Last year doesn't mean anything Kevin. Obviously no one can predict the future but going into the game where your QB is RG3 and the opponents QB is Fitzpatrick I feel pretty good.

There are four games on our schedule that we should win. Texans,Jags, Titans, and Vikings. Why? b/c they have bad QB's. 5-11 Shark? What? We have the best team on paper in the division.

give them a qb and they are a great team. look at their o line, look at the running game, their defense will be good this year. they have a playoff team but a below average qb. all they need is an alex smith/russell wilson. i said team as in the whole roster.
i think we will win this game because i dont see houston's offense keeping up with ours. i do think houston has a good team with a not good qb.

Dean, as i have said I think this team still has flaws despite us being the most powerful team in the division on the PlayStation. I think there are fundamental, and possibly team philosophy flaws that are going to make us a 5-11 squad at the end of the day.
