Dean, as i have said I think this team still has flaws despite us being the most powerful team in the division on the PlayStation. I think there are fundamental, and possibly team philosophy flaws that are going to make us a 5-11 squad at the end of the day.

I'll take that bet.

I'm not being biased or have rose colored glasses on but I see this team with a 11-5 record too much talent on this team this year

Here is the problem I see.

We have a new coach with a gun slinger attitude who is an Ex-QB so he will likely have ultimate faith in his passing game. We are re-configuring the line to be more pass friendly, so I expect our ground game to take a step back. And lastly we have set up an enablement situation for our QB who seems to believe he is a completed product but has shown a distinct inability to read defenses yet insists he wants to be a pocket passer despite his best season coming as a quasi-option QB. Our offense will put up alot of yards and possibly alot of points, but in the grand scheme of things... I think we become a lesser clone of the Cowboys. Alot of flash, no substance and a 5-11 record. For us to hit 11-5, the defense would have to be top ten, and the offense would need to do exactly what I expect them not to do. Play balanced football and actually lean on the ground game. Everything we have seen or heard thus far says the exact opposite.

So whats your take J_Y, what do you think the team will finish up and why??

I'm on record saying we will be 9-6 and win the division. Our division is weak. I think the league will catch up with Kelly and there is no way Foles will play like that again, so I see Philly in the 9-6/8-8 range. Giants are on the way down. Dallas is down and out. I see us with at least 4 or 5 wins in the division. We will win 3 or 4 of the following games: Houston, Jax, and Tenn, STL and Tampa. One of these games we will lay an egg. We will also upset one of the big opponents we play, maybe Seattle at home.

Our offense will be potent. I really believe that Robert is going to have a bounce back year. There is just too much talent around him. We will have a top 10 offense, maybe top 5. Our defense will be better. Still not great, but much better, especially against the pass. We will be in the top half of the league in D, maybe even the top 1/3. Our special teams have to be better, they can't be worse. STs alone probably accounted for 2 or 3 loses last year. Finally, I like our coaching staff. Not sure about Gruden, but I really like some of the position coaches we have hired.

We live or die by RG3. And honestly I think this time next year, we will be debating him much as Dallas Fans debate Romo. Some will make excuses for him, and some will point out that he is a talented yet flawed QB. I do like our defensive coaching staff, though many will disagree. I think the offensive staff was put into place to make Robert feel comfortable. I think they are going to make him feel TOO comfortable to the detriment of the team.

Can't disagree about Robert. I realize you are skeptical. I am not as optimistic as I was his first year, but I still believe he is going to be real good, if he remains on the field. If he falters again this year, then we are back to square one.

Oh I think he has the talent to be real good. But I dont think he gets there as the QB of the Redskins. I think we spend the next two years trying to prove he is something that he isnt.. a pocket passer.

Do you think Bill O'Brien was thinking Ryan Fitzpatrick when he left Penn State?

IM not saying it should be penciled as a win. But I think the prevailing mindset will be that the Texans have a new coach, new QB and new systems across the board. The Skins are returning their QB, the same running game and have improved on paper. Most of the predictors will have this down as a win for the Skins if RG3 is healthy and the offense shows any signs of life during the preseason. If we are favored at all going into this game, I wouldnt bet money on it. I feel safe in betting the under on the points total, and I feel safe in betting the cover on the Texans points unless its some outrageous number like 30 points. As far as the win, I give it to Houston currently because they are at home, and IM not sold that our passing attack will be this unstoppable monster. Combined with the fact that I think we will come out too pass heavy in week one. If we go in there and run the ball and control the clock, I think we have a fair chance of winning. BUt if we come out slinging it all over the place, I think we lose spectacularly.

Well - looking at this objectively - the Redskins also have a new coach, somewhat of a new system(s) and - whether we like it or not - a QB with question marks at this time. Even if the Redskins have a good season they could still struggle a bit in the early games as everyone gets used to each other and the new coaches.

Honestly - this one is a bit of a tossup since there are huge question marks for both teams. We have no idea about the overall approach of the Redskins (especially since Gruden has never been a head coach) so perhaps they surprise us. Can't wait for it to happen - even if we are somewhat disappointed. Fans of a 3-13 team cannot get too greedy.

Some folks here are playing this out & jumping to conclusions way too quickly. We have no idea on a lot of this since there are tons of question marks for this team. How exactly will Gruden coach? Will RG3 be improved? Will the special teams & defense rebound somewhat?

None of us know the answers at this time. This is the fun part about the NFL - unexpected things happen all of the time. I would refrain from writing off RG3, Gruden or anyone else until the season is at least half way over. Way too premature to jump to conclusions at this time.

i believe it is foolish to say we will win 11 games after last season's debacle

so far in OTAS you are seeing an inconsistent play from RG3 as far as accuracy. our o/line is in flux , our d/line is old , our secondary is still a question mark and at ILB we still dont know what we have in robinson

we havent taken into account injuries that will happen

we have a new coach , who will make mistakes in game management , a DC with a checkered past and we are coming off a 3-13 season

i see a 6-7 win team if we jell quickly and stay fairly injury free. if not its 4-5 wins

as for houston they can beat us . they have a sound defense and the only question is at qb and all they need is avg play from him

I have low expectations, given last years showing and the fact we have a new coach and system being implemented.

If we split our division games and win at least 3-4 other games, I will consider the year a success. Any additional wins, will be gravy for me.

You know sometimes it's better to go into the season having low expectations, that's what I did before the 2012 season

I'm surprised at the lack of confidence in our team vs Houston.
They were worse than us last year with much more talent.
While we are looking to start fresh with a new coach, they have tons of question marks with their new coach.
This is not the same Fitz that was on the rise in Buffalo...Will andre johnson and arian foster be effective and more importantly healthy? How will clowney perform at OLB, having to cover in space???
...This Houston team is STILL on the verge of another epic meltdown, while Washington appears to rebuilding from a terrible year.
