If we are looking at slot/return guys, Janarion Grant from Rutgers (yes, I'm biased) has been their most explosive player for 2 years now. He had 4 return TDs last year and has 2 already this year. His receiving stats aren't quite there but he plays with garbage at QB and he was behind Leonte Carroo prior to this year.

Assuming that Howie will fill the holes in free agency after this season, the guy I really want the most is Christian McCaffrey, RB/KR/WR, Stanford. He is the most complete player in college, and may win the Heisman.

I am concerned he will be one of those great college players that will not be anything exceptional in the NFL. I hope I am wrong unless hne ends up in the NFC East.

I think we definately go OT. It is going to be a big need. With the Peterson injury I would not be suprised if our the pick turns out to be top 15.

That Minny Defense is filthy ... I can't see them being any worse than 8-8 ... even w/o AP

Minnesota still gets to play Chicago and Detroit twice each, each team in the NFC East, and the Jaguars. That's 9 games that, even without Peterson, should be very winnable for them. They also play Carolina, Green Bay, Arizona, Houston, Indianapolis.

I don't think they'll have a top 15 pick.

From a strictly draft pick perspective. STRICTLY DRAFT PICK PERSPECTIVE. If we could lose to the Vikings in the NFC Championship game then we'd get pick 31 or 32 and get a 2nd rounder in 2018. And the Browns would only get pick 29 or 30 from us.

It keeps on getting worse for Minnesota. Kalil is out for the rest of the seaon as well.

Bradford is gonna end up in a full body cast.

I think if Bradford lasts the whole season, they will still win 9 or 10 games. The team is that strong. Kudos to Zimmer and Spielman in building a powerful team.

My first bandwagon guy of the year ... North Carolina WR Ryan Switzer ... watching some of the Pitt/NC game and this kid is electric. I've been wanting a good hands / quick / slot type to throw into the mix and this kid could be our Julian Edelman. Very impressed ... he's around 5'10 but a compact 185 and his quickness/cutting ability look top notch.

It doesn't sound like a great class for offensive tackles unfortunately.

How did we get Peters? Runyan??

We need to use FA to replace Peters when it's time, and use 1st round pick on a CB imho

OT only if we are worried about RT

Need a C in the 2nd, imho.

Yeah, we may want to go into free agency to get an OT.

Let me go to the land of make believe fellas...

Could you imagine if Minny lost the rest of their games and we got the #1 pick. With Watson coming out we could EASILY flip that into 3 first round picks and build a dynasty. Man, could you imagine!

Back to reality. We are in desperate need of a stud young LT to protect Wentz for the next dozen years. That HAS to be our #1 priority. We also need a star CB to take the D to a higher level. LT and CB are desperate needs.

I absolutely HATE McCaffery as a pro and everything I read is that he isn't going to be a first round pick. He is a fantastic athlete and is a blast to watch, but doesnt have the size to be a full time RB or the size to be a #1 WR. He is going to be a slot got and I'm not giving up a high pick for Cole Beasley part two.

My personal want is a prime time WR to be Wentz's roommate and best friend until 2030. Montana had Rice. Aikmann had Irvin. Peyton Manning had Marvin Harison. Wentz needs his partner in crime.

LT #1, CB #2, WR #3 are the three stars we need to find to compete.

Agree with much of what you said, but I don't get the McCaffrey hated. He is not Beasley, McC is 6' and 200+ lbs, and muscular. He will be a star in the NFL if he goes to a good team, and not a disaster like the Browns. He is a "Swiss Army Knife" player.

It's still early, but I haven't seen a receiver yet this year who strikes me as that Franchise type WR at the next level in the next draft; none that I would spend my first rounder on. A couple of guys I would look into between Rd 3-5 are two guys I have brought up (Artavis Scott and Ryan Switzer) who would fit nicely as go-to slot types. Both tuff, quick smaller guys with good mitts who also have return ability. I actually have faith that our receivers right now can develop and get better with Wentz behind Center. Agholor is starting to show signs ... Matthews just needs to hang on more often and DGB will start to get more looks. I think adding that top notch slot guy to complement the guys we already have is the way to go.

Notable 2017 wide receiver free agents:

Alshon Jeffery
Michael Floyd
Desean Jackson

As much as I'd like a top notch WR, there are plenty of teams that have won Super Bowls without one. The Patriots, Giants, Seahawks in recent years. I'm sure there are others.
