Their running game looked good but their defense is completely undisciplined. They consistently left gaps uncovered and allowed huge cutback runs.
Let's hope they play a lot less 2-4-5. And go with more 3-4 or 4-3. That 2-4-5 base didn't do them any favors against WMU. Especially playing that far off the line. If they want a shot in this game they'll need. A much more aggressive defense, at least one of the new WRs to step up, more consistency from the o line and more discipline. Clean up those penalties. MSU is a lot better than some people may want to admit. But this is Stanford. That shits not going to fly if SC wants a shot. Did really like the running game a lot tho
.....and the dropped passes. But the "unnecessary penalties" is just another manifestation of the lack of discilpine of these players. I swear the first time a guy got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after a play that cost us the ball he would sit the rest of the day. I'd rather lose than tolerate that nonsense.
Kiffins clock management at the end of regulation in 2011SC gets by Stanford this time around, but probably doesn't cover the spread (as usual)...
