And if VT comes back to win the game, it will because of Pitt's failure to hold onto the lead and some lucky breaks for VT. If it were an SEC team, that team would've had a "horrible first half" while the other team "played lights out" because of the "competition"

I'm sure there were probably some fans that thought he would be in the hunt at the start of the season, but there were also plenty that knew the offense was being rebuilt and would go through plenty of growing pains this season. Personally, I think if he stays for his senior year he may deserve some recognition then, but still has a lot to learn during his second year as a starter.

I do think he'll make a good impression at the next level once he learns the position fully, but will take a few years. His athletic gifts will always be gawked over by scouts. Much like Tyrod really needed all 4 years in college to understand how to play QB.

Not meant to be a knock on Thomas at all; more directed at the morons at the four letter network. He's got a lot of physical tools, but hasn't had all the reps that many QBs have considering his time in the program. Wasn't he a TE for a year or two?

VT has great chance to comeback if they would stop running plays out of the I formation.

Yes, he was recruited as the #1 TE in the country if memory serves even though he was a QB in high school. During Tyrod's junior year, they talked to LT about making the switch over to QB since VT didn't really recruit standouts at the position. He redshirted that year and was Tyrod's backup for his senior year (LT's r-Fr). First year as a starter last year and started slow but had 3000+ passing yards for the first time in a long time at VT.

His size has always had the media gushing over him as the next Newton and therefore leading to Heisman hype, especially after a successful first year as a starter. However, we lost a lot on offense this season and he will be pressing a lot more to start the season than he had to last year with Wilson in the backfield and two of the best WRs at VT ever.

Ugly! If it makes you feel better Edisto, it is a future ACC team beating a present ACC team.

Yep. We're not an offense that can score 3 TDs to come back, especially if the other offense is able to move the ball.

Turnovers and Pitt capitalizing on them in the first half pretty much sealed this game from the start. Oh well, looks like I'll head off to go fishing in a little bit with a few beers in the cooler to help take the edge off. Was thinking about going for cats, but may just rig for bass and bluegills with an ultra-light for some entertainment.

yeah, if I had to spin it, I suppose that would be about the only positive here.

There is no spin possible. Just a WTF! game on VT's part (as normal). Hopefully we'll turn it on midseason and make a push to get back up in the rankings.

Y'all have a good rest of the day. I'm out :fish2:

It is clear Virginia Tech is not very good this year, especially on offense.
