Well I'm rarely on this side of the fence, but faced with a tough decision this year.
10 team, standard scoring Y! league. Start 2 RB, 3 WR'S plus flex
We keep 2, each keeper is your first/second round pick.
I've got three options worth considering.:
AP.. pretty much a given
Foster
AJ Green

Was 15-1 in this league 2 years ago, the lone loss coming in the title game. 13-3 last year, winning the title this time. .gotta repeat, so have to make the right choice. And all members are Donkey diehards, guaranteed that any and all Broncos worth owning will be kept, but no idea on any one else.

For what it's worth, Id draft Green before Foster if given the chance. Id also draft A LOT of RBs before Id draft Foster. (I've never been big on him. Even when he had a legitimate starting QB to force more nickel and dime coverages.) Not many WRs Id rather have than AJ. Anything after pick 13,14 or maybe even 15 Id think is a practical range for Green. Personally, I see Arian Foster in the Twenties.

I'm very skeptical of Foster after he got hurt last year. I'd like to have seen him play in the first preseason game, but he apparently has a hamstring injury and didn't play. In reading the reports on Foster, the other thing that concerns me is that I'm not sure if he's mentally ready for football. That probably sounds dumb, but look at his quotes:

"Any time an athlete goes through an injury like that -- a back, a neck, even knees or hips, something that puts you out for the entire season -- you kind of re-evaluate your life"

"You see what's really important. Is getting paralyzed more important than playing with your grandkids when you’re 50, 60 years old. People die on the football field. This is a really brutal sport. Going through an injury like that, being 27 years old, I’m young, still I’m at the prime of my career. Is it worth it to try to come back?"

If I was in your shoes, I would go with A.J. Green. He's much safer in my opinion.

The safest bet though is green and AP...........foster could be great....but been injury riddled........you want consistent safe production from those top two.........adn you got it with ap and aj

Same here Treff. I liked Foster coming in this year, but he's already scary with "gonna retire" talk, and just ehat kind of shape are his hammies in...not to mention his back.

AJ and AP

I don't even know if I'd draft Foster in any leagues this year, given how his hammies don't seem to stay healthy and the uncertainty of how he will do in a new offensive system.

Tough man.

I would rather have Foster for this year, but Green for the long term. I think I would go Green too.

Also, in standard scoring leagues last year, AJ scored just below the top RBs, and even ahead of guys like Murray and Lacy. He was also the leader in targets, which I don't see that number dropping much.

IMO, he's not just a safer bet, he'll produce like a lower tier #1 RB.

I think you have to go AP and Green here. With the requirement for 3 WR's vs 2 RB's you need a #1 at WR as well. The flex spot does offer some flexibility but roster needs are still 3 to 2. Assuming everyone keeps 2, I guess you could assume a similar trend by the other owners, putting you in the 15-20 range of those remaining at each position for your pick in the 3rd. There are still a few viable RB 2's at that point and several WR 2's to chose from. I know Foster will be good but the talk of retirement and hammy issues this early are concerning.

That's about where I was at too, but wanted a little conformation before tossing an Arian Foster back on to the pile. Also have Jordy Nelson, Ryan Mathews, Jordan Campbell, Romo, and Ben Tate.. but highly highly doubt that's change anyone's mind. ;)

Yea, hard to assume anything other than the Broncos being gone in this league. One dude kept T. Smith last year. . Yet I was able to grab AJ Green with the second to last pick of the 3rd (1st) round. I think most kept one of each with only 3 QB's being kept, Graham was not kept and was the 1st pick overall

Tough call. I'll give an opposing view in favor of Foster over AJ:

When healthy, Foster is a RB1. His QB... recovery...

Screw it, I can't make a case. AP and AJ (unless not keeping two is an option).

Keep green. Foster is too much of a question mark. Are they still zone blocking in Houston? If not, I don't know if foster is going to be very good from here on out. By keeping green, you get to start off with two elite players that should produce every week.

Couldn't have said it better myself.................big Foster fan here but the retirement talk does have me concerned now...............I'm still keeping him in my keeper but my other options are VJax and Andre, not Green...............if between now and then things were to change and he starts to practice again I might change my mind but right now I'd say Green. Shit, you might even be able to redraft Foster.

Appreciate all the input guys. Honestly its exactly what I was thinking and what I was expecting in response, but always good to get confirmation from others whose opinions you trust.

BTW, yes keeping one or none is an option, and if I can play coy and wait to declare mine until most everyone else, or hopefully everyone else, has declared theirs, I may take the chance on only keeping AP and hope there's a gem someone wasn't paying attention to. But, I'm going in with the plan of Keeping AP and Green.
Thanks again
