Wow, no Elsbury.

It's not a huge sample, but Ellsbury was GREAT in the playoffs for the Red Sox in the past. I wouldn't bench him.

He's a good pitcher, don't get me wrong. But he's basically a 6-inning 3ER guy. He also has yet to pitch 200 innings in a season. That doesn't add up to "ace". He was better last year.

He's no Rick Porcello, that's for sure!

His Baseball-Reference page lists his nickname to be "Tacoby Bellsbury." If I ever heard someone call him that, it would take everything in my being to keep from vigorously beating the person who said it about the head and neck. With my dick.

Tacoby Bellsbury. Fucking Christ.

My indictment of Tanaka does not indicate an endorsement of Porcello in any way. I never wanted Porcello in the first place.

Then again, Red Seat told me you were a big Porcello fan before the season started.

Really confused by that move. Not only does he start Gardner, but he leads him off.

And the lesser defensive player in CF

Gardner an elite LF, average CF

Ha! I wanted to keep Cespedes. They traded him for nothing and then made it worse by paying Porcello a zillion dollars. I also wanted nothing to do with Hanley. The guy is a loser. I was really happy with the Sandoval move at the time. I guess being right 2/3 of the time makes me better than Cherington, at least.

Speaking of not being happy with your front office.

The Indians just announce that they're filling the void(s) created when Shapiro leaves by promoting from within.

I'm not entirely pleased about that.

Jacoby Ellsbury is not in the Yankees' lineup for Tuesday's Wild Card Game versus the Astros.

It's pretty stunning to see a player with a $153 million contract not starting a winner-take-all game, but it makes sense for the Yanks to go with Chris Young instead if you break it down. Astros starter Dallas Keuchel is deadly against lefties and Ellsbury has really struggled since the beginning of September, hitting .202/.254/.246 with no homers. Young is in left field and batting second, while Brett Gardner has shifted over to center.:suds:

Chris Young was in the lineup for sure

But it was Gardner that should have been hitting the pine

Sounds like Girardi had a "hunch". Doesn't make any sense. Especially with those stats you posted on Gardner since the ASB.

Hes on with Michael Kay in a second, and he says "Cant wait to find out about this one, makes no sense"

"Well, Michael, you know we just want to get Gardy going. We're a better ball club with him in there. He can be a real catalyst for us."

Or something like that.
