Are those career or 2017 splits?
Bauer is a weirdo. I think it'd be tough to look at splits like that, because it's like he's two different pitchers. One is really fucking good, and one is pretty mediocre. Of course, that begs the question, which Bauer do we get Thursday night?
I agree that Francona won't let Bauer let the game get out of hand. Hopefully it's not an issue.
A’s brass addresses offseason concerns, will continue to focus on youth
Sox should be all over him if they do trade him.
Those are 2017 splits.
Even looking at just his Sept games, after inning 3, he had a 5.06 ERA, but from innings 1-3, he had a 0.60 ERA....he just seems to fall apart after the 3rd inning, and I think Francona will have the pen up early even if Bauer does look to be cruising early on.
@bksballer89 If the layoff between the end of the regular season and the LDS is going to be this long anyway, might as well add a couple more WC games.
who you think they'd give up to get him?
probably an MLB-ready (or near-ready) prospect or two and maybe a couple lottery guys? Idk, he's under control for a while. His plate discipline is a bit concerning (3.9% walk rate and 22.7% strikeout rate), but he does make plenty of contact and he has pop. He did cut down on the K's in the 2nd half (went from 26.7% in 1st half to 19.2% in 2nd).

Exactly. The NL doesn't start until Friday. 4 days off. Makes no sense. How about we get rid of the 5th team and make the LDS best of 7. I actually prefer that then the current system
Anyways, these wild card games are pretty damn popular. I don't think they're going away or having the format changed anytime soon.

I dunno about 7 games, but the 5th team and one game play in has got to go.
And I don't know why. I'm sure Twins fans feel like they made the playoffs even though they were not able to see them play a single game at home lol. What a joke

I love them. It's an awesome way to kick off the playoffs, with essentially two Game 7's. High fucking drama.
I don't know why some people think teams that can't even win their division are entitled to a shot at a championship.
