Just actually looked at the Nats in some detail. Wow, they are much more of a challenge than I thought. Been so damned focused on the Doggies and Kersaw and company just lost sight of these guys. We start off with Stasburg and then move on to Zimmermann and Fister. IMHO more difficult than Kersaw and Greinke and Ryu. But I still love our chances here. If Jake can step to the plate and we can score us a few runs we have a chance of taking game 1 and still have Bum in the wings! Have to love this time of the year if your team is in the mix.

Nats are probably the best overall team in the playoffs. But the playoffs are crazy, and it's better to face the better team in a shorter series. Glad we only have to win 3 instead of 4.

Agreed Peavy needs to steal us one today, too much pressure tomorrow if we lose today.

Going player-by-player, the Nats are a superior team. Not sure anyone argues that.

But we have 30 rings and the best manager in the game. Will that be enough? We will find out in the coming days.

The same could arguably be said going against the Braves, Phillies, Rangers, Reds, Cardinals and Tigers as well, though.
