Amazing that the A's beat out the Rangers and Angels. It had seemed like a foregone conclusion that the Rangers would win the division. I read that they led the division for 178 of 180 days.
Shocked? Yes.
6 runs against Kershaw. Don't think so.
A victory would be sweet, though.

I heard someone say that only the 1951 Yankees and the 2005 Twins and the 2012 A's are the only teams to win the division, and led the division only one day out of the season.
Don't think Hensley is coming to the post-season.
Good tune-up from Volgy.

Just remarkable. Earlier in the season, it looked like the Rangers would run away with this thing and win over 100 games. That's why they play 162, I guess. Part of it is a collapse by the Rangers, but the bigger part is that the A's just played their butts off. They won something like 67 of their last 100 games.
Was that someone TitoMac?
The 2005 Twins finished 16 back.
