Gotta get the car inspected today...ugh. At least they're open early and I can drop it off before work.

Mets fuckin' tore through the Cubs.

Regardless of whether or not they were beating good teams during the regular season or not, they're doing it now.

And what the fuck is up with Daniel Murphy? Seven years in the majors and he's his 62 HRs, nine games in the postseason and he's hit seven? Dios mio. If he played a full season homering at this rate, he'd hit 126 HRs. That makes my brain hurt.

His slash stats for the NLDS are downright stupid:

.529/.556/1.294/1.850

Awesome stuff. Congrats and good luck, Mets fans.

You call ahead to the garage, ask them when to tell you you can bring your car in, and when you get there they look at all the full bays and grudgingly tell you, "ok, I guess you can leave it..."

You're damn right, I'm leaving it. Now, not only does it need inspecting, but change the oil, rotate and balance the tires, and I want a fresh Magic Tree on the mirror when I pick it up LATER TODAY, not tomorrow.

Also interesting to me is how Arrieta was smoking hot for the last two months of the season, even including the Wild Card game. He hits the NLDS and promptly hikes up the pitching mound and lays a long, steamy shit right on the pitching rubber. 6.75 ERA? What. The. Fuck?

From July 20th through the Wild Card Game, in fifteen starts, Arrieta gave up 9 runs. That's roughly half a season worth of starts with a 0.74 ERA. Then he gives up eight runs in two playoff games. What a dick!

Also, why didn't the Cubs start Lester last night?

Madden's a dick too!

I heard his rationale...something like, "We need to win game 4 anyway, and then I can throw out Lester/Arrieta and get to game seven." Not sure it makes sense, especially given how bad Hammel has been against the Mets in his career.

Well, it's a good thing he's got Lester and Arrieta fresh for games five and six.

What a dipshit move.

Meh. With the way that Arrieta has shit himself the last couple games, it was just a matter of time anyway.

It took less than a half inning for him to regret that choice.

As I said, I think it was just a matter of time, but it's almost like he said, "well, we're down 0-3, the team isn't hitting for dick, Arrieta is in the locker room trying to get the diarrhea stains out of his stirrup socks, basically, we're fucked. I'm just gonna start Hammel as a joke."

I guess they just rode that horse too hard the last month. His innings pitched was getting close to 250 for the year. Not sure it made much difference, but he also had to pitch that WC game. If he doesn't have to do that, maybe he gets the ball in games one and four in the LCS

He's carried a 2.52 ERA over the last three seasons, has two bad starts after a shitton of innings pitching this year, and you're predicting a 4.5 ERA next year?

I'm sorry Chicago doesn't love the White Sox.
