have a fun trip Matty!!

finally a good start from the Nucks.
4-1 after 1. looks like Rinne will play 82 games this year.
Trotz didn't even think of pulling him after letting in 4 in 14 minutes.
edit: nevermind, Lindback in for the 2nd

Dale Weise with his first NHL goal.
wish Hamhuis would have got his money's worth on that roughing minor on tootoo.

don't look now, but Lapierre has a couple of fights already this year.
shedding that turtle image in a hurry.

Lindback made a few saves in the 3rd that he had no reason to.
shots after 2 were 31-29 for the good guys.
I feel much better about the 1 for 7 powerplay sitting on a 4-1 lead.

powerplay is really trying to load up Salo this year.

tootoo not back out for the 3rd after a fight with Volpatti.
Volpatti caught him good early, but tootoo came back strong in the fight.
good to know (hopefully) that those first few that Volpatti landed hurt.

powerplay has a chance to make some hay here.
full 5 on 3 with Suter and Weber out.

boom Kesler. 5-1
still 3 min of PP with Weber in the box.

- Lappiere has hit a couple of solid posts tonight too. strong game for Senor Smirksalot
- 40 shots again tonight, feels a fuck of a lot better when a few of 'em go in.
- Keith Ballard with 7 blocked shots. next highest on either team was 3.
- bench was used well tonight. only 1 forward above 17 min (Kes with 18), and Bieksa was top d-man by 3 minutes at 24m.
- Henrik moves above Smyl to 3rd in the all time Nucks points list (675)
- Weise had a heck of a game. nice that he could be effective for 12 min.

that one felt good.

Is this the same Ballard that looked absolutely lost last year? Wow, what a difference.

And same for Alberts... he's looking much improved as well. Really rounds out our top 6.

he's been around the puck alot, blocks shots and lays that hip check out every game ... still think he should be getting some second unit pp time

/a case of plus minus not telling the whole story ??? (he's -6)

I think it was a combination of not being healthy starting lastseason, losing confidence, and ending up in AV's doghouse. I do love the Ballard hip-checks (or are those clipping penalties?) :becky:

the "dog house" definitely had a lot to do with it. AV picks someone every year. Not really sure who it will be this year. Early pick was Sturm but AV was praising his effort even while sitting him.

he was pretty good last night ... I actually saw some speed from him down the boards chasing a puck and then he fought through a check from a preds dman ... small victories (and that "kick in" should have been a goal)

If the ref had called it a goal on the ice they wouldn't have overturned it. But because he waved it off it was going to take concrete proof for the league to overrule the ref.

wow ... from Kypreos

A 2 min boarding penalty called on #Preds Shea Weber vs #Canucks last nite will cost him a #NHL supplementary discipline hearing today @ 2pm

/weber was very feisty last night ... hit edler into the boards when he was in a vulnerable position ... I guess he didnt go to the roxy wednesday night with the rest of the preds
