We're all hot take machines here, may as well give mine too. I've got Moore in there to Bryant (who looked terrible against Moore), even if Bryant gets on, I leave him in to face Rizzo. After that, put Law in.

Even the actual scenario where Law did come in first, fucking leave him. He's got a 3-run lead and he's been our best reliever all year. Fucking Bochy

I just knew that putting in Lopez would not end well. The dude is done as a LOOGY. Awful move.

JLo has given up a walk or a hit to over 50% of the first hitters he has faced this year.

Mismanaged completely. It looked like Bochy was picking relievers out of a hat, in sheer desperation rather than a real plan. As soon as Law gave up the baserunner, Bochy must have thought, "Oh, #$!$, here we go again."

But you gotta tip your hats to the Cubs, they kept playing and battling, and we simply imploded.

Be safe tonight fellas. No one seems like the type to go out and be destructive or drink heavily or anything like that. But just a reminder it's a game. An extremely fucked up, soul crushing game, but a game.

Go to bed with a glass of wine and cry yourself to sleep thinking of '10, '12, and '14.

About 20 other teams would have killed to be in our position, so let's back away from the ledge.

It was a good year, though ultimately unsatisfying.

We have some good young players, and some good, young pitchers, and some holes that need filling.

So who are you rooting for?

Even though I am an NL guy, I don't think I can root for the Dogs or Cubs. The Nats maybe. The AL teams look OK to me. I hate when the season ends like this.

I like both the Jays and Indians (extremely glad the Sox and Rangers are out). I could root for the Cubs and Nats. In early September I predicted Indians-Cubs, so I guess I'll stick with that.

No plans to do that. Its just a game. Hard to deal with the defeat but I really do think its a lot easier to handle after the three championships in the past 6 years. Contending every year has been awesome too. But what a awfully bumpy and maddening ride its been from July forward.

I echo your caution. No one do anything stupid as a result of tonight. That goes for the front office too. Make responsible choices this off season.

How sad.

Gs set a record for most blown saves by a team making the playoffs. '69 on up I think. Criminy, we got so used to having a shut down 'pen, now we know what it feels like to not have one.

Moore: I can't believe he shut down that potent offense with 2 hits. WOW.

And I guess it's appropriate the season closes out with one last gut punch. DAMN.

Definitely not rooting for the Dodgers. I wanted them eliminated today, not us (what an awful day for baseball). As hard as it is to write since we just lost to them, I'm kind of on the Cubs bandwagon, but wouldn't mind a Nationals or Indians win either. Blue Jays if they have to face the Dodgers in the WS.

Can't say I was pulling for the Giants. Nothing personal, just want to see a team end a long postseason drought; preferably the Cubs. That being said, I wouldn't wish this kind of loss on you guys. Just a shitty way to see your season end.

You guys have had a hell of a run and I don't see this being the last of it. Giants sure did make the playoffs interesting at least. :suds:

I'm rooting for Dusty.

You guys had to deal with the same yesterday. Cannot say I was rooting for the Red Sox either. Just like an outsider looking at the Giants, I didn't really want another championship for a team with 3 already this century (only if its the Giants :D). However, it seemed a sad way for Big Papi to do into the sunset. At least he got to thank the fans once more at Fenway.

It was a pretty disappointing way to see Papi's season end, but it was nice to see him get another crack at it in the postseason before it was all said and done. It's only their 2nd postseason appearance since 2009. We haven't seen too many meaningful October games over the last 7 seasons.

Boch just kept doing the same moves that weren't working. Was he just out of choices????

Really think he missed the best ones - either keeping Moore in for the 9th, with a short leash, or leaving Law to face at least 2 batters. He seems smarter then to stick with the conventional moves, especially in the post season and with a poor bullpen.

Yeah, I didn't feel very confident about two guys who have little left in Lopez and Romo.

Remember, 2004, 2007 and 2013. Only Cards come close to what our two teams have done since 2000.

Thankfully they haven't... fuck them.
