Aside from the Rangers and Flyers, the Hurricanes are my least favorite team so I'm hoping this is a disaster. Also I hate the Staal's faces. They are ugly dudes.

@DamoSpin: And with signing of Semin, Hurricanes remove themselves from list of teams worth taking seriously this season.

@DamoSpin: $7 million for barking Semin is, to put it mildly, freakin' hilarious.

@DamoSpin: That some regard Semin as a good addition only confirms that many just look at numbers, don't actually watch games. It's not baseball, ppl.

I think Damian is being a little too coy on his tweets can someone tell me if he thinks it's a good thing for Carolina

Nuts!

/am I doing it right?

No, no, no. More subtle, like this...

That Alex Semin is going to ejaculate all over the competitions.

Sounds like he is saying Semin will pour in some goals and the rest will take care of itself.

I'm glad Damien Cox weighed in, this is confirmation that Carolina made a smart move.

Here's the thing Damien - It's a one year deal, if it works out, great, if it doesn't (and you'll likely know by the trade deadline if it isn't working), you move Semin for a pick/prospect. In my opinion, it's a low risk, high reward move by Jim Rutherford.

I'm not so sure about that...like my buddy Mark Madden said...if anyone can make sure that Semin gives 110% every game.. It' Eric and Jordan Staal...we'll see.

I agree here. Both are great leaders. He's also walking into someone else's house, so he needs to be play hard to work the next year.

Semin - Staal - Ruutu is more likely
On the real, I don't think that they'll all be on the same line. However they might have 90 goals just from those three. That's pretty unreal.
don't step on the joke, assholes!

in addition, (with J Stall + Semin) you have made a significant upgrades to an offense that was in desperate need of it. Committed to your star, captain and to the growing fanbase that you are going to be threat (at least in that division). put the team on the map to other free agents that you aren't afraid to spend money.

seems like a whole lot of plusses for a bit of a potential overpayment (with no term)

When it comes to scoring, Eric and Jordan will now have a hand - job well done in aquiring Semin.

Seriously though, have any of the big teams signed any of the big FAs this season? Pretty remarkable.

I assume you mean big MARKET.
Otherwise, that's just mean.
Our arenas just as big as everyone elses. :(
And our schwartz is huge.

Vancouver landing Garrison is the only one I can think of.
