I was saying the same thing about kawhi and I ended up being right.

I have been watching bball for 20 years. I'm also very good at playing it, like college level good. I'm 6"3 with a 6"7 wingspan. Anyways back to Tatum.

In the reg season celtics have been posting a 120+ offensive rating since about mid January

And Tatum is giving All time great defense on top of that

He has extremely high IQ. He's not as gifted as kawhi but I think his IQ is higher.

Tatum has turned into the pat Mahomes of the NBA. Just needed udoka to unlock him.

Getting Derrick white mid season was also extremely underrated move, he could very well out play poole this series
Do you run track?

No I was mostly just a shooter and very lengthy with high IQ

Anyways, we just have different views on tatum. Not a big deal.

27/7/6 on 59% TS with elite 3 and d game

That sounds like a GOAT level player to me. All he has to do now is be a leader, which he already has stepped into greatly.

He also tied larry bird for same points and same playoff games, only difference was Tatum is 24 and bird was like 27.

The pace Tatum is going now, he will retire top 3-5 alltime playoff points. Could even finish first if LeBron is pretty much done.

College level good?

Does that mean you actually played in college?

Because the way you worded that makes it sound like it is just your opinion that you were college level good.

Well, got to hand it to you.

You don’t give up.

It is a batshit crazy opinion to call Tatum “GOAT level”. But you are consistent.

There is a lot of reasons why you guys just aren't seeing it with Tatum.

1) he doesn't have muscles and he's not flashy

2) he wasn't a #1 pick with crazy hype like LeBron

3) you saw a lot of his pre prime growing pains in the 2010s (it was like watching 90s kobe). But even pre prime Tatum took LeBron to 7 in 2018 dunked on his ass and chest bumped him.

4) he doesnt have scoring titles like Durant I guess?

So his game can easily be overlooked by the casual eye. The facts are he is just coming into his peak this season and has been the best player in the world reg season and playoffs since January.
That’s not fact. That’s a Homer’s opinion

anybody selected all nba 1st team is in the conversation for best player in the world.
He’s first team on a technicality. That’s Embiid’s spot if you’re using 1st Team NBA in this way

I don't want to turn this thread into my biography but yeah I can play the game and I know the game was my point.

Tatum outplayed Giannis in 4/7 wins and eliminated him.

Embiid chokes every year and Tatum swept his ass in the bubble

Those two certainly weren't better in my opinion
1. Because you’re a Homer with zero integrity in your sports opinion
2. Because you’re citing team accolades and achievements when talking about a player and trying to prop him up.

Team accolades and stats to back up impact from the individual.

That's plenty of evidence

In the eyes of a homer it is. And you’re lying. Giannis and Embiid’s stats since January are better than Tatum’s.

What about 2nd team?

Joel Embiid Sport GIF by Philadelphia 76ers
Embiid is extremely talented but he's not mature. The last two years after playoff exits, he has thrown Simmons and harden under the bus. He acts like a 10 year old. Worst leader ever.

Tatum is actually coming into his own as a legit leader you can take seriously.

I always refer to Tim Duncan as the Derek Jeter of the NBA.

He was a very very good but not dominant player surrounded by all time great supporting casts.

Steph curry would fit in this category as well.

This years Tatum run is superior over anything those guys did

Loosen your homer helmet, it's cutting off the circulation to your brain.

Duncan's the greatest PF in league history. His resume speaks for itself. Now compare Tatum's resume to TD's.

Steph's the greatest shooter the league has ever seen and changed the game like few others have.

Tatum's damn good, but he's not great yet.

Where do you have him ranked as far as all time Celtics? He's not even in my top five right now.

Bird, Russell, Havlicek, McHale, Parish are all ahead of him.

"This years Tatum run is superior over anything those guys did"

He hasn't won anything. And you think he's better than Duncan (5 rings) and Steph has three rings and is the only unanimous League MVP.

Thanks for the laugh.

As far as playoff peaks, I would rank Tatum #1 for celtics all time right now. He's clearly better then bird. 2nd and 3rd wheels like mchale and parish are a joke to compare.

Steph had Durant/dray/klay for 2/3 rings, any top 50 player ever could of won those.
