Then why doesn’t Ainge take LaVert Siakam or Dejounte Murray at pick 16 in the same draft?

Obviously damny was thinking….

:: stumped pause ::

I don’t know what the hell Danny was thinking

They badly needed a pg at that time too

Danny has never been great at picking big men. Always has to trade or FA them

But guards , that’s been what he picks well

Giving kanter a second year for no reason cost him the pick that ended up Bane

Strong statement you pulled out of your assalmanac
Ok, reach up your ass and tell me which of the banged up teams the Celtics beat could have beaten any of the top 6 teams in the West...now shut up

So you see where he said the 6ers had no shot at either.

Those are not the words he used.

I understand why that is what you interpreted his comment to mean. But that is not what he said.

I can't just like you can't say some of the west final 4 gets past Miami or Cleveland.

I'll say this I wish Minnesota wasn't laying an egg, because I prefer to face them over Dallas.

Here's his exact words

"No scenario where that was possible. It’s all good though. You expect Celtics fans to be casuals."

How in hell do you interpret "No scenario where that was possible"

Go to the 1:48 mark, that pass by Tatum was ridiculous setting up the open 3 …

Dallas is ready for Boston. I wouldn't want to be the guy that's asked to check Kyrie in that series

He explained the scenario behind the trade with the Celtics. I suppose the 6ers could have tricked them, but Fultz was the guy most had pegged at 1 and the 6ers clearly believed they needed a guard.

As for taking Brown over Simmons?

That would have been fireable honestly. And it would have been the wrong pick.

Yes, I realize Brown is a lot better today. But as I have said before, the 6ers mistake was not in drafting Simmons at 1. It was in failing to trade him at any point during his first 5 years when he was playing at an all star level, it was clear he and Embiid weren’t a great fit and they should have known his work ethic wasn’t there.

They could have traded Simmons for a better player than Brown had they realized what they had.

Him saying it wasn’t possible is an exaggeration.

But it certainly is not realistic to say they could have drafted both.

It was a good pass.

It was a good pass.

Pretty routine in all honesty though. Corner ball screen, his man fights through, Horford’s man stays under and shows up to help at the rim. Easy read for a player at that level.

The ridiculous part was Indiana leaving Horford all alone in the corner after he had already hit 6 3s.

I don't know that Indy has much in the way of alternatives... defense is their weakness, and it sure seems like they can't cover everything that a team like the Celtics can throw at them.

Horford was ice cold from 3 earlier in the playoffs... they're playing the Celtics like they just hope he keeps missing.

If they switch it up and stay close to Al in pick n roll situations... it's doubtful they can contain guys like Tatum and Brown who would be coming down hill.

Dallas vs Boston is shaping up to be a really good Finals.

The Celtics going to need Porzingis back to win IMO.

Truth.

Leaving Al open is silly. The guy is a consummate pro and even at his age he is showing he can still get hot

I realize he is playing great right now but Boston has several guys who they can throw at him.

White, Holiday and Brown are all more than capable of defending him. Heck, they can even throw Tatum

With all their firepower on offense people seem to forget Boston can play some good defense when called upon to do so...

Yes and no.

You can’t leave a hot shooter open for a corner 3.

Help had to come from the weak side on that play, where at least they could have had a chance to help the helper.

Very poor defensive rotations there. That is definitely not how they practice guarding that situation.
