Oh Yeah, got it on the DVR, sweet!
This was an offense without running back Darren McFadden. This was an offense without three starting linemen.
And yet, against a defense that struggled to consistently pressure Pryor, they outshone a Chargers offense that had been rolling.
San Diego entered the game with at least one score this season in 14 of 16 quarters. It managed only a field goal the first three periods, the lone score part of a strange sequence.
A 37-yard Nick Novak field goal was blocked, and tight end Ladarius Green recovered and converted the fourth-and-2.
Quarterback Philip Rivers then found wide receiver Keenan Allen on the back-left corner of the end zone for a touchdown that was overturned. Officials ruled he did possess control prior to falling out of bounds.
Novak salvaged the drive with a field goal.
In the fourth quarter, Vincent Brown caught a 30-yard touchdown. An illegal formation penalty on the young Becton negated the score.
Rivers threw three interceptions after two the first four games.Eddie Royal muffed a punt, and Raiders cornerback Charles Woodson returned a Danny Woodhead for a 25-yard touchdown.
Too many mistakes.
Too little, too late to win.
