Why? Expecting collapse?
ive been expecting it for a while now

if they make the postseason i want my rotation this way:

1- sale
2 - fister
3 - pomeranz
4 - sale again

keep price in the pen for relief. he has the velocity,he could be useful like TB used him as a rookie.

Let me put it this way. I really want the playoffs to start NOW. Yes I am worried they are going to blow their load before it matters.

Well in a way they are currently blowing their load :D

Are the Red Sox really truly planning on using Price again this season?

They are screwed come play-off time. They will face great pitching and if they can't hit even mediocre pitching (last night doesn't count) then how should we expect them to go anywhere?

Judging by your team preferences you obviously don't have a dog in the race so thats understandable. I felt the same way every time the Yankees/Angels/Red Sox flopped in spite of their bloated payrolls and overhyped free agents

I would more enjoy seeing the Dodgers fail but the Indians losing in the ALDS means the Yanks are in LCS

It has been fun seeing the Yankees in particular go through a stretch of mediocrity.

What REALLY cracks me up is that the Indians supposedly got Bruce because they were willing to pick up more of his salary than the Yankees were willing to pick up.

That- and im glad the Yanks took Frazier and not Zimmer for Miller.

Who would have thought youd see the Yanks trading players to the Indians for prospects and losing out on a player like Bruce to the Indians over money concerns? :suds:

While that's true, they also only have one every day player who has a below average OPS for his position, and that's Moreland at 1st.

This is true, but I think almost every player's also under-performed their projections (Steamer or ZiPS). Pedroia's probably outperformed them, but he's also missed a good chunk of time.

bigger issue is that last year, the Sox had 7 position players worth at least 2.5 WAR. Those guys were Betts (7.9), Pedroia (5.4), JBJ (5.0), Bogaerts (4.9), Ortiz (4.5), Hanley (2.7) and Leon (2.5 lol). The 2017 Sox have only two players north of 2.5, and that's Betts (4.7) and JBJ (2.6). I think what's even more frustating is the lack of power output. The league ISO this year is .172. The Sox have had only had five players with an ISO north of that, and two of them have only played around 40 games (Devers and Nunez, and Nunez probably won't sustain a .215 ISO). Two of the other guys are Hanley and Moreland, and their offensive production has been very pedestrian for 1B/DH anyway.

Not sure I really see these as "big issues" considering they are essentially in the exact same position this year as they were last year. Likely 3rd seed in the AL. And last year couldn't have gone worse while in this position.

The short sampling has shown that Frazier is a better hitter than Zimmer, so Im good with that trade

And at the time, Bruce looked like the perfect guy for the Yankees, but shockingly, the way Ellsbury has performed, and the addition by subtraction of Aaron Hicks, the Yankees never really felt the blow of not getting Bruce
