Not really sure why they did both moves. Get Moreland and pass up EE. Maybe since Moreland is a lefty?

From what I read they were trying to stay under the luxury tax and EE would have put them over. Moreland was good defensively and willing to only do a year deal. Think they were hoping he would have at least 20 homers. . . . Right. Even though Carter didn't work out for the Yankees, I thought that was a better option at the time.

Devers is the youngest Red Sox player to hit a hr since Tony Conigliaro in September 1965

The youngest in MLB this year too, apparently.

Good stuff. As long as he doesn't top 260 ABs this year, I'll be psyched because I'll be able to keep him as a minor leaguer.

Since when do the Red Sox care about the luxury tax?

Apparently now that they're under the new CBA. It's why they unloaded Buchholz.

Annnnnnddddd. . . . again - a perfect opportunity to steal with Holt on first. But no and we end the inning with a DP.

LOL. Textbook Sox offense right there. Load the bases with no out. Follow it by, strikeout, strikeout, groundout.

Even funnier - it's not like the Sox as a team strikeout a lot. They just happen to do it with a runner on third a lot.
