Interesting how we've got so many defensive liabilities on the roster for their bats, yet not many of them are producing enough to justify anything but a pure bench role. Yet its La Stella every night at the DH spot, who's not hitting enough to justify that lineup role.

I always thought Garcia was an RBI machine, and he was after a fashion. He never had a ton of power or hit for average, but he made his hits in the minors count. I think in 2016 in the AFL, he appeared in 15 games and had 12 RBI, though he hit less than .200. Then in 2017, he had 12 RBI in 13 games, so nearly an RBI per game. In 2017, he hit decently, .259.

Part of it could be the lack of playing time in the big leagues and the bouncing around (the Reds are his 3rd org after the Giants let him go). But some guys, especially catches, look good offensively in the minor leagues but cannot hit a lick in the big leagues (see Mathis, Jeff as a prime example).

I will grant that Pedo has been a nice surprise. We only have 3 potential All Stars on this team (Pedo, Webb, Rodon), but I think Joc will be our lone representative.

I think Gonzo has an outside chance to be a reserve. Very small chance, but still a chance.

We were originally called the Red Stockings. We didn't call ourselves the Red Legs until '54-'58.

With the fun history out of the way, you guys should sweep the series. Our pitching throwing is atrocious. Nothing but fastballs with an odd offspeed. The art of pitching has disappeared from this team. The defense likes to use the infield shift, and still gets beat. If anyone knew how to bunt, they would eat that shift up. It's going to be a hard year for the Reds, but I'll still listen to the games.

Thanks for the comments. But it is really hard to sweep a series in which the team lost the first game. Unless you mean sweeping the "rest" of the series.
