Sandoval gets the start tomorrow, right?

My knee-jerk, emotional reaction to this game - I really hope the Giants don't think about being buyers this July. I don't think it will be worth it. Maybe Bumgarner makes that big of a difference, but this team looks awful right now.

As a buyer, we would only be able to get, at most, 1 SP.

Assuming perfect health from everyone (including Cueto)...

Bum
Cueto
Trade SP
???

Melancon
Smith
Watson
Dyson
Strickland
Moronta
Gearrin
???

Posey
Hundley

Belt
Panik
Crawford
Longoria
Hanson
Sandoval

Cutch
Gorkys
Mac
Duggar
Jax (Slater??)

Not sure this is good enough. And this is with PERFECT health. The rotation simply isn’t enough.

Remember, Cueto is far from a sure thing to return. They could fire up the pitching arm and find out he needs TJ surgery after all. I think what happens with Cueto should go FAR into which direction the FO goes this trading deadline (unless the team continues to tank, which would make a healthy Cueto pointless).

Of course Cueto is a huge question mark. As is Melancon. As I said Duggar. As is Panik. As is Cutch. As is everything.

Most errors in the National League (only Texas has more errors, by 1)

23th starting pitcher ERA going the 20th fewest innings. Only Baltimore and the White Sox have worse 1st inning ERA's.

Worst situational hitting in the majors. Can't drive in runs even with a hit with RISP. Cannot bunt to save their lives.

Our best hitter has three homers and has the softest and least productive average. And he's on pace for a whopping 10 homers and 54 RBI's.

But hey, you can save 15% with Geico!

I realize that they are all question marks but my gut sense is that Cueto is biggest wild card of them all. He comes back healthy then that is a HUGE boost for the team. If he is done for the year (and possibly a good portion of next) then that makes the rotation too thin to contend, even with a mid season pick up. Bumgarner, who they acquire for the 2nd spot and three of Holland, Stratton, Suarez, Blach and Samardzija isn't that good.
