MBBRL D1 IR slot, draft discussion

So, we've voted in 2 IR slots, during the vote it was brought up that the IR spots could potentially be used to store a couple extra players for the duration of the draft. Personally I feel the IR slots should be cleared with the roster returning to a max of 18 players for the duration of the offseason, with the IR only becoming available once preseason begins again.

Anyone else have any other thoughts about this potential issue, do we need a vote on the matter or is it common sense that we should just make the IR "off limits" during the offseason?

I'm with you....

Are they even technically on an I.R. in the off season? I could be wrong, but I would absolutely bet no. Only until they are actually placed on the current year I.R./P.U.P. of the NFL team, do I believe they should be allowed.

I like an IR slot but hate to see it used to stash players, so anything designed to prevent this behavior is good with me.

Just so I'm clear. If a player say like Keenan Allen has been on IR since his injury, once the season ends you need to take him off IR? I'm good with however the rule reads, just want to be sure how it works.

Yes that would be the basics of it, a clean/empty IR before starting the new league year. Owners would have to drop 1 (or 2) players to create the roster space to get those guys off IR and onto the active roster. Or, if they prefer to just drop the guy on IR, I can do that too. It's something I'd have to manually oversee every year come week 17 or shortly thereafter, but I don't see that being a problem on my end

Yeah that's fine. I would send out a reminder week 16, just in case rosters freeze for week 17 since we don't have any active matchups, so hopefully you wont have to do any changes yourself.

As I stated from the very get go Ir doesn't exist until the draft is over and the commish has verified all and then once. We open the WW then you may place one of your own on to the ir if they are deemed eligible because of NFL ir or pup list.

I tried to leave, I really did. But I had these guys show up and not let me. This one dude had an RGIII mask and stood in my way with his arms crossed and a condescending look on his face, another dude kept smacking me with his left hand, while some guy that looked like a cross of Joe Montana, Joe Pescity, and Mean Joe Greene kept hitting me with rolled up spreadsheets, and these 2 Canadiens kept threatening to make me watch hockey if I quit...so I stayed
