The Eagles have some good players, but it seems they aren't necessarily the toughest guys. Is it true that Carson Wentz self reported his concussion? Guys like Jim McMahon or Brett Favre never would have done that! They had more starters finish the season on IR than they had finish the season.

Watching the 49ers and seeing John Lynch up there in the booth. And seeing the Ravens built by Ozzie Newsome. It makes me think that smarts and analytics aren't good enough to build a football team. You need a guy calling the shots that is not just smart but truly understands what it takes to be a tough football player.

As an Eagle, they didn't come any tougher than John Runyan. 14 years in the NFL at one of the most physical positions and I don't recall if he ever missed a game. Then he runs for and wins a congressional seat. And now we is a VP in the NFL offices. Seems to me that he has the toughs, smarts and connections needed to run an NFL franchise. Runyan is the sort of man the Eagles need.

Go get him Jeff!!

The Blind Squirrel finding a nut analogy here seems appropriate. Roseman is fortunate to work for a patient owner more than willing to spend to the full extent of the cap and beyond. Probably half or more of the owners can't or won't do this. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of this team, but they do seem to consistently be second tier. First Tier? Steelers, Patriots, Ravens, Seahawks, Packers, Chiefs and now it looks like the 49ers may be joining that group. I don't think a pure geek can Roseman can get them to that level.

Comment on the front office if you must. Your credibility is zero.

No one forgot what a clown you are just because you ran away for the Super Bowl.

Fake fan. Go UCLA rah rah rah.

I would rather discuss John Runyan's credibility and perhaps Howie Roseman's. I would expect a little more Runyan love from you football sorts?

I like John Runyan. Is he even looking for that sort of job? Can he evaluate talent?

In his time with the Eagles he did not miss a game and not that it matters really but his name is Jon. He was a much better player than his one pro bowl appearance would indicate.

Not sure...But he does work in the NFL Front Office, and was a US Representative, so he appears to have the sort of well rounded skill set you would like to see to run an NFL franchise and you have to think that running a team is the sort of challenge most guys working in the NFL Front Office would aspire to.
