2019 Recruiting Class

Starting to come into focus...

Last night, it was learned that AU WR Nate Craig-Myers is in Motown on an official. Looks like he’s immediately eligible and has 2 years of eligibility available. A 4 star recruit... Top 50 player. Looks like we have a future Mountaineer right there.

We also know former 4 star LB transfer from Bama ... Van Darius Cowan... a top 100 player will be part of this class.

It is looking like former PSU commit... Ishem Young will be part of this class. He was a 4 star recruit last year before he got into legal trouble.

Jennings... WR recruit is in Motown on an official. He’s expected to commit very soon. We also look to be in good shape with another high 3 star CB recruit.

So much doom and gloom expressed by some of our posters... I’m looking at you GoldRusher. And, now we see a final product that could be pretty damn stout!

What I didn't realize was that fact for the first time in I don't know how long they didn't have 25 scholarships available...I don't think that has happened since Nehlen...

Holgerson is good at picking up transfers to plug holes. I was worried last year about DL and then we get two quality starters at the last moment.
I’ll wait until Labor Day before passing judgment. This team could change dramatically between now and then.

The AU transfer didn’t happen. Reading about it on 247, it looks like WVU was hoping he would be immediately available, and that doesn’t look like it could happen.

The kid ended up at Colorado St.

and Colorado who fired their coach, Pitt, Northwestern,Duke,UCLA, Indiana,Purdue,Minnesota,Cal,UNC who fired their coach,UVA..

Transfers and preferred walkons are not calculated into the ranking. If we go back and add in VanDarius Cowan (+26.28), Jayvon Thrift (+4.07), Owen Chafin (+1.87) and Leighton Bechdel (+1.06), you’ve got an overall class score of 211.32 - an improvement over their current 179.24. With those players added into the mix, West Virginia’s class suddenly jumps to No. 29, above the Virginia Tech Hokies, and is a much better reflection on what the class actually is.

If you want to add in Isheem Young (+16.43) and Logan Holgorsen (+1.86) - both of whom are expected to join the Mountaineers in January - and we’re at 229.61, which bumps the class up to No. 24 in the current rankings.

As someone stated above, Holgorsen seems to be able to plug holes with grad transfers and junior college guys. I wish he'd learn to recruit out of HS, next year will be interesting!!!!

What position has Dana not recruited HS kids?

According to Chris Anderson, Dana and Jake went into this year with 5 QB's on their recruiting board. None of the 5 chose the Mountaineers. This meant they'd look for a transfer QB to fill their need. Obviously, with Will and Jake coming on board... the coaches feel confident they're an attractive choice for a QB stud who hasn't been able to win their battle for PT at their current school.

According to Dana, we're going to see Trey Lowe play against SU on Friday night. A true HS stud QB...

Not sure what you'd have them do? You want them to waste a schollie on someone not deserving?

Like I mentioned, they have Trey Lowe on board. He is a high school QB recruit.

Logan will be a PWO... coming right out of University High School.

I'd rather our HC judge the available talent, give offers... and get their kids.

I don't want to see my HC bring in kids like Brian Athey or Tevita Finau.

The HS QB class was supposedly pretty weak this year. Cycle of life...

??????? So they had kids who weren't what they wanted on their board? They are picking "THEIR" kids, offering them, but the kids are choosing other schools. Everything you have posted shows that Holgorsen can't get HS kids.
