Lol. Those are the numbers for last year's basketball tourney . Wizard was questioning whether more people watched that then watched bowl season ( they do, it's not close )
Again just do 130 team tournament, add another 500 million people watching those games.

Why not? Way less to lose playing a great OOC game this way than there is now
Please let me know the last time a college basketball team played only P5 teams.

And you still won't do your homework. There was a reason why I asked. It does tie in to the very stupid idea you keep pitching. You refuse, keep using bogus numbers and ill informed information, and wonder why no one is coming to your aid.

That's not the point. You can do a tourney and still have quality teams while expanding interest . CBB has roughly 20% participation .

Ok, that now is officially the dumbest thing you've thought out in this whole hair brained scheme. :pound:

There would be a couple of standing rivalries that would still be played, and everyone else would be going against dipshit state as their opener. If conference games are all that matters why on earth would ANY decent team risk injury or otherwise not use their free game for developing depth? That's 100% how it will be viewed. Period.

They're not bogus. They're right from last year's viewers numbers. Almost as many people watched the first round of the CBB tourney as watched the ENTIRE bowl season including the playoffs . Lol

So you are suggesting teams play only P5 opponents isn’t just as ridiculous? When is the last time a football team has played only P5 opponents?

Why not just do a triple elimination tournament?

The point is that a 15 seed could win though . It's adding excitement to their season , creating more viewers, making more games mean something and creating memories for when a 15 beats a 2 . No one cares about a low seed winning it all or even believes they could . It's about interest all across CFB
No, the point is a team that wasn't #1-4 playoff seed worthy in the regular season doesn't deserve an opportunity to upset a #2 seed. A team that would be seeded 15 hasn't earned a chance to upset a #2 seed in a playoff format. It is okay for #4 to supset #1, but not okay for #5 to upset #4. Limiting the field reduces the chance for upsets. Plain and simple. That is the point.

Even though I am being sarcastic, I'm not really all that interested in expanding the playoffs. I could live with some more but four is fine too. What I'm interested in is improving the regular season OOC matchups. That's what is the most fucked up IMHO.

A 15 seed has never won a championship...not even close. So why create a false narrative, so we can create a false excitement for a team that most people don't care about? It wouldn't create any more viewers than the Big South tournament winner does each year in the NCAA tournament.
No they haven't won a championship. But they've upset many a #2 seeds in the first round and fucked up the #2's opportunity to win a championship.

There's no upside for teams to play great ooc games currently . A big ooc win is nice but you don't gain nearly as much as you lose if you lose that game . Look at Washington this year . If they had played Alabama A&M instead of Auburn they'd be 5-1 and still in contention for the playoff . They didn't so now they're fucked . Even if they'd have beaten Auburn they would still be ranked behind all the unbeatens and on the middle of the one loss teams . Basically it may have added a spot or 2 to their tanking but by losing it their season is finished already ( as it pertains to the playoff ) yet Oregon can play no one at all ooc and lose to stanford but if they win out they'll have a shot . Just the way it is . You can't incentivize great ooc without increasing the playoff teams

So no team only plays P5 teams now so no one would have a problem doing it now. You might get one decent OOC games a season. The regular season TV numbers fall through the floor because teams can lose 5 games and still make the playoffs.

I already showed how it would looked last year . The worst record getting in was 7-3 and there were only a few of those . Don't be hyperbolic
