Wow, Boston and Conte are both playing tonight

Bostic just got penalized for a stupid play and conte got punked by a tight end. So glad we don’t have the likes of these two on our defense anymore.

Bostic was never bad. I just think a lot of us had high expectations of him being a true "game changing" LB and he never lived up to that billing. If you remember, he was also in a shit situation. That line and secondary in 2013 got decimated by injuries early. Horrible defense...

Conte also isn't as bad as Bears fans would have you believe. He's serviceable. He just seems to have some bad moments.

I get your points on Bostic. I would take Smith and Travathan over him every day of the week. Conte is straight garbage though. He will never be a starting piece to a quality defense. He’s just terrible.

Nah. He's serviceable. He actually followed up the mess in 2013 with an okay 2014 campaign here. We're just hard on him... for obvious and probably warranted reasons.

Saying a guy who has started 106 NFL games is serviceable...? I don't really get how that's a debatable point. Clearly, he is. Look, I hate that the fuckin guy cost us an NFC North title with one blown coverage too. However, I'm not going to sit here and be dishonestly harsh over it.

I'm also not sure what other players you are referring to.

So, basically... Conte made a horrible play this one time and that's the whole thing here. He was also all-rookie NFL team for us in 2011, FWIW.

Conte consistently grades out average to above average on Pro Football Focus. Right now he's ranked as the 34th overall safety in the NFL out of 70+ who qualify. He's a fine player and you simply cannot dispute that.

I use the eye test. I saw a guy who was okay at coverage but shitty at tackling. He’s garbage. You should just accept that we will have to agree to disagree. Stop acting like sports is anything but subjective analysis.

How many plays have you seen of his in TB? 0.5% of his plays... maybe? PFF has seen every single play he's ever made and had them ALL evaluated and graded individually by former head scouts, GM's, NFL coaches... etc...

Disputing that a guy who has 100 NFL starts and consistently grades out as an average to above average NFL safety isn't "serviceable"... it is JUST as stupid as saying Trubisky > Rodgers.

Certain things are subjective only on a purely technical basis. This is one of them. You are wrong and it's empirically tested, tried and true.

You know how it's also obvious? You have yet to bring forth a claim which could possibly substantiate your claim. That is because there does not exist one.




NOTE: Before you go into your usual victim, butt hurt mode. Remember that your snot nosed little "you sure love defending terrible players" comment started this. Which I then asked you to follow up on... and you could not. You bring this stuff on yourself, a lot.
