It's been a while since the Yoters made the postseason but last year the Panthers drew 1000 more fans for their first round opener vs. the Isles than the Sens drew last night.

Wow, that's a lot of 12 packs of Pepsi sold with tickets attached.

Also, LOL at BBB chiming in. It's like clockwork for Leafs fans to bring up attendance or how much they dislike a city once their team is inevitably playing golf in April. They've been doing it for so long, it's a hard habit to break.

We playing this whining game again? All I said is it's brutal that a second round opener in a Canadian city wasn't a sellout. And it was. It's pathetic. And embarrassing.

To BBB's point above though, I would be disappointed if the Flames weren't able to sell out the Saddledome for a 2nd round playoff series and Kenny did say the same above. The economy is slowing starting to improve in Calgary, but a lot of people were definitely hard hit by the downturn and if it comes down to food or rent over playoff hockey, it's a pretty easy decision.

Theres no denying Kanata is just as shit a location as Glendale ... and I just heard the Sens still charge people $30 for parking out there ... jeesh Melnyk ... give the fans that portage out there a damn break!

Minus about 85% of the commuters that make the trek to Glendale a PITA. Heading west on the 417 at 5-6 pm isn't bad. $30 for parking is a ripoff but that's, what, $10 more than what they pay in DT Van or TO?

It's far but it's playoffs. If you can't generate enough fan support when tickets are going for $50 on Stubhub at such a rare and important time, you have problems.

And I don't think it's 30 bucks. Maybe $20? It's been a while since I've been to a game out there. It's just weird though because there weren't these issues in the first round.

Sure it's the playoffs and sure there is a bunch of very good young talent in this league, but besides that I find myself caring less and less about the NHL these days. I don't really care for the on ice product as much. The league keeps tweaking the rules, has a ridiculous point system and rules that change from face off to face off and refs that game manage. Playoff tickets are expensive and I have a feeling there are a lot of fans who mirror my sentiments about the game today. I could go to the Ducks game tonight for two people and spend $130 which is a hell of a deal and still I chose to do other things with my money (not coke and hookers for those wondering).
