Not certain Thompson will stick now.
Supposedly he knew about it, but I think this one has a long way to go. Heard OU hit him up and the OSU commit

Heard Sanders just kinda brushed off Riley too. Some in the know were worried when Rising flipped but I don't think this affects us so whatever. Thompson was our no 2 and we were in early on Rising so I think we get a seat at this years qb musical chairs. Honestly I hope we get one of them and the other two end up way the hell away from the Big 12.

The class Texas and Tom Herman are putting together right now is something epic.......we'll see how he closes and if he can keep it together. This could potentially be a top 5 class if he wins this season and lands all the kids they are supposedly leading for.

For those thinking Thompson flips to OU or OSU:

"On Saturday, Tom Herman flipped Oklahoma quarterback commit Cameron Rising, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Bob Stoops and the Sooners are trying to return the favor and revisit the market on Texas Longhorns pledge Casey Thompson.

“OU hit me up already,” Thompson told Burnt Orange Nation following the news of Rising’s flip.

While the interest from Oklahoma doesn’t appear to be reciprocated at this point, which is obviously still very early and BON is still seeking details, Thompson indicated that Rising’s pledge doesn’t impact his current commitment status to the Longhorns.

“I’ve been knowing,” Thompson said of Rising’s commitment and whether or not it impacts his pledge to Texas. “Me and the [Texas] coaches have a very good relationship. I knew they planned to take 2 from the jump. Their current QB room is thin!”

What may prove to be key for Texas holding onto Thompson’s pledge and fending off any pursuit from Oklahoma may very well have to do with the Longhorns initially prioritizing Thompson.

“I was their first choice,” Thompson said of the Longhorns."

I'll say this......I don't think Thompson was ANYBODY'S first choice - not Texas, OU, OSU and now even Oregon has offered him. I think even TCU has Rising rated higher.

But if Herman is the guy I think he is.......Texas keeps both. Herman is well aware that getting them both to commit within a week of each other would lead to this speculation and every other program sniffing around, and I think he has a plan to deal with that. We shall see. The QB depth at Texas is rail thin.

Still worried about the OL and front 7. The state of Texas is really bad here. Texas signed the #1 OLB in the state and he was a 3 star. Coburn and Wright are the only gems on the DL. OL is a wasteland. Top kid is the quintessential looks like Tarzan plays like Jane, Simpson. Texas may have to dip outside the state to secure a decent interior and that is always tough

And I'm not high on Wright......

I'll just say this. I think Thompson knew Texas wanted another QB. I dont think he expected them to bring in a higher rated QB.
