These two teams have never met before in the playoffs. As a Caps' fan, I certainly like a last of history in the first round matchup.

Should be a lot of fun. The Leafs will be good for a long time, but not yet.

I just bought tickets for game 5 of the series a second ago. Woot!

I feel strangely comforted the Caps go into the playoffs in a year where Sergio is the Masters' champ and the Cubs won the World Series. I suppose that would jusitifiably give solace to a Leafs' fan, too. Oh well.

I smile a tiny bit this morning, thinking of what Derangeder Eagle is thinking knowing it was a Jackets win (after 6 losses) that put the Leafs in this position.

Waiting until Thursday is going to suck, but the fact that all the games are on one day rest is great as the Caps (most notably Holtby) play extremely well with games every other day.

And at least until a potential game 6, no afternoon games.

For Game 2, the "best seats" per the Ticketmaster/Caps website were $500 per. From the box office, not resale.

I didn't think they even had any tickets left at the box office. There are so many season ticket holders (capped at 12,000) that they get first dibs and buy up most of the seats. I was able to get nosebleeds for $70 a piece. Actually, seems pretty reasonable to me. You can get game 1 tix as low as $50 at the moment, though I doubt that lasts through the end of the day.

Tickets in Toronto going for $220-230 at the cheapest right now. But not really surprising in a hockey town starved for playoff action.

I know the Caps should win this easily, and I think they will, but the Leafs are playing with house money. They weren't really expected to be in the playoffs this year and have nothing to lose. If the Caps let them hang around (win one of the first 2) the Leafs could make this a long series.

Wrong again. Toronto lost to Ottawa in 1904. Try to keep up.

But did everybody know that only Edmonton has lost more games than Toronto in the last 10 years? And that they've won as many conference championships as Las Vegas? And that Auston Matthews is a man-pig hybrid created by the NHL to try to make the Leaves something close to decent?

Because relevance.
