Hush your Mouth Guns. I agree this kid is probably going to be good, and might be electrifying. But I like my RBs like my trucks... Im not planning to run you over, but if you get in my way this is going to hurt. McCafferry reminds me of a McCoy type back, and there is nothing wrong with that, but we are entirely too predictable in our passing agenda as it is. I want a RB that teams actually look back there and say... well fuck they might actually try to run the ball.

Which is exactly why I like McCaffrey. I see him enhancing a passing game that I do not think Gruden is going to take the pedal off of. Of course Cook could be that guy too. Don't know about the kid from LSU. We already have 2 or 3 yards and a cloud of dust, why get a more expensive one.

Part deaux - it could be the most important thing a RB can do in a Gruden offense is pickup blitzes.

He'll be the Redskins

Dion Lewis or James White
He's a faster and more gifted version of James White, and did people see the Super Bowl and understand how White helped that guy who QB's the Pats? (See how I did that - White... guy?). Would I pick McCaffrey for the Skins at 17? No, but he's really good, multi-talented, and I'd be tempted.

And he can help burn the blitz and discourage DCoordinators from using the blitz. Then again, so can Mixon.

I dont think Dalvin Cook is gonna make to many people hurt either. Hes more Jamaal Charles than AP.

I dont know man, we are talking about some one who averaged 1488 yards a season on 229 carries a season, for a svelt 6.5 yards per carry on average. I know he had a poor combine, but I would seriously say watch some film on him and tell me what you think

What's the deal with Kamara, can he develop? He doesn't have a lot carries on him. And i do mean 2nd round.
Again, its good to have options open - I think the big 3 all go in the 1st round and I'd be surprised if Cook is passed by the eagles, colts and ravens.

Trust me I've been watching his film since before the season started and he isn't running people over. I'm not saying he has too but he breaks some arm tackles down around his legs. He's not punishing people. That said if he gets a hole he can be gone in a flash. Again not saying he can't be an every down work horse but he's more McCoy/Charles than AP or Zeke.

Do his combine and off field stuff concern you? I feel like people on here are obsessed with him and just don't address his flaws at all.

The combine, not at all. AS for the off field stuff, it worries me about as much as Mixon's off field issue.

Being a 9th percentile athlete doesn't worry you at all?

The off field stuff is probably about right. He hasn't done anything as bad as Mixon and probably has a longer leash but I might trust him less.

Again dude, Im basing it off of what i have seen him do consistently on the field. So no it doesnt worry me. Too much weight is put on the underware olympics in my opinion.

And to be honest I think a few posters around here are looking for any solid reason to not draft him because they have developed the idea that it is better to draft a good defensive player over what could be a great RB because we need defensive help more. IM just not a fan of that logic. If we were talking JJ Watt over a RB sure. But I think we are looking at more bang for our buck if one of the true starting RBs in this draft were taken at 17, and i dont expect Fournette to be there.

i think you have to see who is on the board . there are game changers on defense , but i would pass on a game changing RB for a avg d/lineman

We can get average D lineman in the 2nd and 3rd if the last two years are any indication.

That he is. I just compared him to his "abilities" on the field as more of a receiving rb than an actual running back but one who can be a rb

Unless the plan is to pass on every down, do you honestly want to spend pick #17 on a guy who by all accounts is NOT a workhorse type and by your own view point adds singularly to the passing game?
