hey you want KC gone , you feel paying 24 mil for romo is better ? you get what you ask for
well that is what you will end up with the 37 yr old romo no 1st round picks and no 2nd rounder because god forbid paying KC is out of the questionwho the hell said that? that would be a f'n dumb trade plain and simple!!!!

in the end that is your team KC goneno that's what we get when Bruce Allen is running things instead of Scot McCloughan

Romo's final three years is 56M, 18M per year average, that said this trade ain't happening regardless of his salary. I want Dallas to find a way to keep Tony, at a reduced salary, but if Dallas somehow got the #2 pick in the draft for Romo I will be fine saying goodbye to him.Makes no sense at all to sign a broken down 36 year old QB for the same thing a younger healthier QB would cost you. Romo's final three years average $24 million. It sounds more like three drunk GMs sitting around a bar playing GM games. Even Rappaport said he had little detail and talks were in early stages. He reported a rumor.
I have no feeling for what might go on. Long term contract, trade who knows. It seems if you wanted him you would have signed him. It does seem that dysfunction might be back in Ashburn. We can all guess what is going on but will never know. We have thought more than one time that things had changed, Gibbs II, Shanahan and now McCloughan. It appears each time we were wrong. All we can do is see how this off season plays out. I have told you before and will say again that I know several people that work for the organization and no great change has taken place. Only your perception changed.
To answer Sty's question about how much we pay this year there is no reason to play anymore than this year in which we know he makes $23.9 which makes him the 4th highest salary and 4th highest cap hit in the league ..... for now. Which is why McCartney said he is being paid very well. If you are willing to tag him at $24 million for this year why do you think he would settle for a $20 million per year average. Seems to me the starting point for a 5 year contract would have to 5 years at $125 million. That also means a pay raise of a million next year with no raises after that. Who would sign that deal? Would you sign a 5 year contract that says you get a $1,000 raise next year with no raises for the final 4 years. I know I wouldn't. If you gave him a million dollar a year raise then it would be 5 years $130 million.
The bonus' count against Dallas. All any other team would owe him is his base salary. Still to high in my book. I'm sure if he is traded the team trading for him will demand to negotiate first for a less money. Again I dont see any team giving up the 2nd pick in the draft for Romo.I used Sportrac, his average with bonus averages $25 million.
